  1. Yeah Riske!!.. 3 scoreless innings and we still have Stetter/Shouse/Villy/Bush to bail out Suppan tomorrow.
  2. I am ok with being careful there to Glaus with 2 outs..
  3. Can we please walk Pujols here? Let someone else beat us... Edit: I mean go right after him.. show no fear boys!
  4. Yes.. st. louis score keeper is much more honest than SF. By the way can we trade for Ankiel and take our chances with him as a reliever.. what a gun.
  5. Bill Hall.. switches from horrible to amazing and nothing in between.. I am enjoying the amazing part right now..
  6. Current lineup's OPS in July: Weeks: .767 Hardy: 1.205 Braun: 1.060 Fielder: .913 Hart: .809 Hall: 1.068 Cameron:.999 Kendall: .510 Pitchers: Babe Ruthian Here come the 2008 Brewers! We are going for it.
  7. Now that is good humor right there.. a factually accurate to boot...
  8. Brewers with 12 hits and only 33% are for extra bases.. they are due to break out.
  9. I am sure Riske is coming out for the 8th.. though personally I like Villy better as he seems a little meaner out there.
  10. Yes.. if I was pitching at Braun I would probably throw at him every other pitch after watching his Nomar routine.
  11. I have been so enjoying the CC era I hadn't considered who they will get rid of when Suppan comes back... let's Torres is out and Villy/Riske are the best 8th inning bets right now. Shouse has been too effective and I think you have to keep Stetter as Shouse has a history of wearing down at the end of the season. You could argue McClung or Bush to AAA to keep a starter available in case of injury or you are left with either Gagne or Mota.. To me the only choice is: - Send McClung or Bush to AAA (though neither deservers it) - DFA Gagne (Mota wins on velocity) With that said the likely scenario I am sure is Stetter to AAA at which point we will have Stetter, Pena, and Dillard in the Nashville pen. Who says we need a reliever?
  12. Don't forget the 37 times he grabs the dirt/rosin bag behind the mound. I almost added that one but couldn't decide between 18 and 50... thanks for the assist.
  13. Yes.. at least when Mota makes a mistake it is 96 and not 91 like Gagne.. also if Mota is pitching I don't have to watch: - 15 goggle adjusments - 22 hat replacements - 29 shirt adjustments - 45 crotch grabs.. Gagne gives me ADD just watching him.
  14. On the most positive note think about the confidence this team would have winning a game on the road in St. Louis with McLung starting and Mota and Gagne coming in..
  15. I agree.. I think we are beyond the point of coherently being able to discuss Yost at this point as it seems there are 3 distinct camps: - Hate Ned Yost - Support Ned Yost - Just want everybody to quit talking about Yost. and there doesn't seem to be much chance of changing anybody's mind at this point. For full disclosure I probably fall in the Support Ned Yost group but I have to admit I may have been on my knees last inning and saying a little prayer to the big guy upstairs : )
  16. That is funny as if you look through other threads I make you exact argument and agree with you completely but if you take where those players where at the time of the trade and factor in they were all pitchers it shows the high price for an above average reliever.. on a unrelated topic "Ha. Aaron Miles.. you are not a god!"
  17. Yeah.. Mota made it through.. on one hand.. he looked pretty good.. nothing out of the IF.. On the other hand taking a lesson from "Little Big League" if you are getting excited about a reliever pitching a scoreless 6th that probably tells you all you need to know about his usefulness. If Gagne pitches the 7th I might need a pacemaker and I am only 33!
  18. Phillips is talking about how the cost for a reliever is less at this time of year.. what the hell is he talking about. a decent reliever may cost us Gamel.. just look at what Linebrink cost last year.. I can believe he is paid to be commentator and someone actually had him as their GM...
  19. Here..Here.. I have to admit i am a closet fan of Big Red.. you have to like his stuff and how he seems dedicated to improving his craft..
  20. Yes... Steve Phillips ranks right up there with Kruk in the last people I want to listen to talk baseball.. I think that they employ Phillips and Kruk as an equal opportunity law to offset Gammons.. 2 idiots (Kruk, Phillips) = 1 great (Gammons).. Kurkjian is offset by Vina.
  21. Yes.. I was just going to write that he and Schumacher can join Eckstein as players you love when they are on your team and hate when they play against you. . Kendall is on that list as well.
  22. I think McClung is in the rotation because he is hitting 150 points higher than Bush.. also would be more helpful in a brawl..
  23. I am just going to say Nice Job Rickie..
  24. 6 game hitting streak for brewers pitchers.
  25. At least we clear Week's spot this inning so we will get Hardy to lead off next inning..
