  1. Man, everyone is pretty much ignoring the question. I'd give any two players from the Power 50 outside of Lawrie, Rogers or Odorizzi. Everyone else in the system is still very much a "hit or miss" prospect. I'd take a year of Prince and two draft picks for hit or miss prospects. If we are talking MLB players, I'd be willing to part with Hart, McGehee, or Weeks. (Weeks only because he is also for one year) I'd guess one of Hart, McGehee or Weeks and a minor leaguer outside of Lawrie, Rogers or Odorizzi might work as well.
  2. Fielder and McGehee are big bodies that don't move very well. I understand their inadequacies defensively. Braun and Hart are both very athletic. The fact that they struggle so much defensively is maddening.
  3. I heard the Witrado piece too. Basically, Witrado said the Brewers weren't too happy with the lack of communication from Sabathia's camp. They never had their offer rejected. They were never given a counter offer. They were never given a chance to match the Yankees. It sounded as though Sabathia's camp just sat on the offer until the Yankee's blew them out of the water. I suspect Weeks will play out his contract and become a free agent. If/when the Brewers trade Prince, Weeks wouldn't have too many friends left in the organization.
  4. That is some pretty shocking news. Maybe Taylor Green ends up being what they envisioned for Casey McGehee, a back-up 3rd, 2nd and C.

  6. Wow, Pascual is already rule V eligible. Time flies I agree with Mass on Peralta, Green, Farris and Kintzler. I'd say that Katin is a possibility depending on whether the Brewers have room on the 40-man roster, but I suspect they will allow him to go search for a better opportunity. He doesn't doesn't fit into Milwaukee's plan - Braun and Hart already have the corner spots locked up. I don't think Milwaukee has any interest in a AAA player pinch hitting on a regular basis as the 5th outfielder. They seem content with veterans handling that role. As a wild card, how about Wheeler. Wheeler does play SS. Not well, but at least he would be a back-up SS if they have room on the 40 man roster. Thanks Mass & Minigoon.

  8. Seidel pitched for Brevard County. (3IP 0ER) Watten followed him up with 5 scoreless innings. No Kyle Heckathorn.
  9. Salome's last ten games: .386 OBP and .561 SLG for a .947 OPS. It's A+ ball. And he is DH. However, before this recent tear, I thought he would just be let go. Perhaps the Brewers will effort to keep him around after all.

  11. I am currently paying $150 a month to Charter Communications for cable television and wireless internet. I hate Charter. I don't have U-Verse in the area. Condo Association doesn't allow sattelite dishes. Have anyone gone without cable and basically turned their computer into their television? With Hulu, I can watch a lot of my favorite shows anyways. I assume I could buy a cord (or software) to get the image onto my television. I've also heard of people using their computer as a DVR. With our Wii and my Itouch, we could stream video from Netflix directly to our television. I can buy the MLB package on my Itouch to get all of the Brewers games. So this creates lot of questions... 1. We have two HD television. Has anyone used a video converter box to pull signals from their air for their television? How is the video? I'd like to still receive quality broadcast from the basic Milwaukee stations. 2. Has anyone ever put Hulu, the MLB package or Netflix onto their television from their computer? Is the sound and video ok, good or great? 3. I'd be able to watch the same amount of baseball games with the MLB package. I'd still get football games over the air. (Less the ESPN games). Any idea how I could watch Bucks games? About 90% of our television watching is basic cable or FSN Wisconsin. 4. Has anyone used their computer as a DVR? Is it hard? Are you able to hook anything up as a remote control? 5. Any problems or suggestions that I might be overlooking? I appreciate any insight into the matter. I'd love to cut back on our bills - and I'd love even more to stop paying Charter so much money. Obviously, my plan would still call for internet service, but we could save $100 a month dropping cable television.
  12. Roger's appears to be back to claiming his pre-injury prospect status. This is huge news.
  13. If they were to sign Cliff Lee, I believe they would keep Prince as well. Why add one huge piece and trade another? With both they would be World Series contenders.
  14. How about the C.J. Wilson experiment? We could sign Kevin Gregg or Grant Balfour and turn them into starting pitchers.
  15. I love reading these stories. However, I'm sad that they are all so old. I'm sure there is a lot of pressure on players in today's society, but I'd love to hear Braun, Prince or Weeks chatted someone up or gave them tickets to a game.
  16. I do not understand Melvin. Stetter was great as a LOOGY. Why try to turn him into something he isn't? Stetter still has a 3.77 FIP against LH batters with a 14.5K/9 IP in the minors. I understand keeping Braddock up instead of Stetter, since Braddock uses the same roster spot and can also get out RH batters. But to pass on calling up Stetter when the rosters expand makes no sense.
  17. I'd stop following MLB - except for my fantasy team and the playoffs. I love the Brewers. I don't pay attention to the rest of the league until September.
  18. It's posts like this that keep bringing me back to Brewerfan.net. Thanks Ennder. I look forward to regurgitating that stat to my friends in the future.
  19. I remember the excitement I got from Frederickson's great outing few weeks ago. I have a feeling that in about 2 years that will be my only Evan Frederickson memory.
  20. It is impossible to overstate how important Jeffress and Rogers' years have been so far. Rogers took a bit of a hit with his blister. And Jeffress was lit up last night. But assuming Jeffress goes back to starting (which I believe is still the long term plan), a 2012 rotation of Yovanni, Jeffress & Rogers could be fairly exciting.
  21. That's a great list. It's really hard to argue with much. A few that I would have adjusted a spot or two - but otherwise I agree. No one from the 2010 draft is in the top 20. Ouch.
  22. Gomez has tools. He has not harnessed them. I believe he also speaks limited English, currently. Can you imagine how hard it would have been to adjust to playing baseball through the minor leagues with a limited understanding of English? Perhaps the language barrier has stunted his growth? Edit: Can't believe my synonym for "stunted" was blocked!
  23. Sveum definitely had some head scratching decisions. However, since a MLB manager has a fairly limited impact on the game, I'd prefer a manager that the players want to play for. As far as I can tell, no one has had too many positive things to say about Macha. (McClung went out of his way to say bad things about Macha) At least the players like Dale.
  24. Ouch. I can't wait to hear the Covey side of the story. Epic Fail.
  25. 20 K is great. But he is almost walking a batter an inning.
