  1. I can't make changes but the Brewers traded Aaron Myers (A-Wisc) to the Orioles for international cash.
  2. Yes! The Numbers Threads! Makes me want to start a magic number thread...but I'm the guy who gets mad when announcers mention a no-hitter or consecutive field goals made.
  3. Is he getting hurt in the field though? I don't see how playing DH is going to keep him healthier.
  4. I wish they didn't have roles. Bullpen Management mired in the 80's. All the data and machines to crunch it in seconds and we still have defined roles in MLB? Aye yi yi.
  5. 2017 Milwaukee Brewers (through 89 games) 49-40. 2008 Milwaukee Brewers (through 89 games) 49-40. (Sabathia debuted in game 90) 2011 Milwaukee Brewers (through 89 games) 47-42. They are keeping pace with a winning percentage at or better than their previous 2 playoff seasons.
  6. I live in Salt Lake City. Jazz fans are just insufferable today. I think at least 3 co-workers are on suicide watch. I am so looking forward to this coming season.
  7. ROY can't be a reliever, not in this bullpen.
  8. Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm saying. The eyes and brain test in spring training tells me this is a .470 talent team. The shoe will drop. Maybe it's not until next April...but they will regress to a winning percentage much closer to their talent. Barring some .300 ball over the month of July (Early August is a favorable schedule), September should matter.
  9. The shoe will drop. Cubs and Cards are .520 talent and the Brewers are .470 talent. Enjoying it while it lasts.
  10. 2 Miami 1-1 3 Baltimore 1-2 1 @ Chubs 0-1 3 @ NY Yankees 0-3 3 Philly 2-1 4 @ Pitt 2-2 3 @ Philly 2-1 3 @ Washington 0-3 3 Chubs 1-2 9-16. This bullpen is horrendous. Late in-game managing is horrendous. Just feels like a team that seems to find ways to lose 1 run ball games for a few days then win 10-2. Cubs have it relatively easy in July and go 14-10. Brewers 4.5GB come August 1st. If the Brewers can somehow manage to stay 2GB or less come August 1st, they got a chance to get to September square and make it interesting. Cubs have a devilish stretch from August 1 through 18 or so.
  11. Why does our bullpen suck so bad? Game after game after game after game.
  12. If they keep this up much longer they are only going to get my hopes up for a harder crash. This season was supposed to feel like 2005 at best but probably more closer to 2004. Instead, it's feeling like 2007 and making me reminisce about 2008.
  13. Never heard of her.
  14. Not saying I expect him to work out or not work out. In fact, odds are that at least one of the three taken today are flops, and he would be the most likely bet. I would concur with that.
  15. Yup. Would have been preferred Cook/Jones/Desmond King for the first three picks at those spots they drafted. 3rd round pick was an absolute waste. I'd take the 10th ranked interior linebacker over top 3 DT. So disappointing.
  16. It's just so unnecessary. The Packers need a single Howard Green occupying NT and that man can be found at the end of free agency or training camp every single season. The reverse pecking order of the positions these days basically goes Fullback, Punter, Nose Tackle, Placekicker and yet the Packers seem to think they need to draft a 13.5 tackle interior defensive lineman in the top 100 every single season. Just disgusting.
  17. Yup. It was to an extreme. My point in that is NOT everybody DESERVES a second chance. It's a noble idea but is it a prudent idea in EVERY situation? Of course not. I don't know Mixon's situation and I'm not saying I wouldn't draft Mixon. I would probably welcome him with open arms quite honestly. That said, each individual needs to be vetted and employers need to do what is prudent. They don't need to simply offer a blanket "everybody deserves a second chance", because it's just not prudent.
  18. Is there any doubt? 3rd round talent coming at #29 without exception.
  19. ~~ William Belichick at April 2010 NFL College Draft reference 4th rounder Aaron Hernandez (had punched a restaurant owner in college).
  20. Just cannot defend the 3.
  21. Or they jump out there and foul. Unreal. What is so hard about staying in their hip pocket no matter where they are on the floor? Zone D is worthless.
  22. I say this every...gosh dang...mother lovin..year. The Wisconsin Badgers do not know or seemingly the coaching staff doesn't care to teach them how to defend the 3. They stand two feet inside the 3pt line and give it to them every possession. This team will die by the 3 again this year.
  23. One side of the mouth they'll cry the news went public...while crying out the other side of the mouth when homicide investigations such as this and other police investigations are not transparent. Unreal.
