  1. Blah. Tied 1-1 to the 10th...watched this movie before.
  2. The Milwaukee Brewers....snatching defeat from the jaws of victory more often than their opponents since 1970. Sadly I followed the game on the internet and knew exactly how it was going to play out from about the 5th inning on. It's just so predictable and has been for some time. Impossible stat to track down, but I gotta imagine the Brewers are somewhere around a .100 winning percentage in games in which they lose after being ahead multiple runs after the 6th inning vs winning in which they are multiple runs behind after the 6th inning.
  3. Maybe they will not do anything and not send anyone down and see if anyone notices. That would be awesome! Any idea what the penalty is for having 26? Is it game forfeit? Just curious. Still believe it has to involve a trade of some kind. Doesn't make sense for it to be simple roster turnover and withhold the announcement. There is no competitive advantage to waiting all day to announce a call-up.
  4. It's never an issue. Just no indication that he went. There are private options as well outside the few commercial directs from COS to IAD/DCA (Frontier I believe is the only one). Most Delta from COS is to SLC (where I live and fly out of multiple times a week as a Delta Diamond). There is nothing to indicate Brinson flew to DC and thus I don't see any reason to believe him being held out was to travel to DC to be on the Brewers lineup. I am reading that Brinson is on the sub card today in COS. MILB gameday has him available as a sub from that sub card. Haven't heard that he is there or in uniform however.
  5. I don't see any indication he will be in the lineup tonight. There is zero evidence he went to Washington DC this morning.
  6. What gives you the indication that he is not physically in Colorado Springs right now?
  7. Also provides further indication that Brinson being called up is not just a rumor. That is my thought. No reason to leave Colorado if he is being traded. Likely the acquiring team asked that he be held out of action.
  8. I agree with this. I concur. Isn't Verlander basically Suppan at 35yo?
  9. It's suspicious that Brinson got pulled from last night's game in the first inning. If the call up was planned, he wouldn't have started the game.Gotcha, so assuming the obtaining team asked that he be pulled? Wouldn't make sense for the Brewers to pull him for a call-up to cover a different departing OF. Unless they absolutely wanted him to fly last night to be in uniform tonight? Agree now though that if it were just a call-up, the Brewers would seemingly have routinely announced something by now.
  10. Just catching up.. Why does the Brinson call-up require a trade? Was somebody just not announced as going down from the 25?
  11. Why does CC keep guys in even tho everyone and their uncle knows he just doesn't have it that day? Because CC doesn't make decisions based upon situations (the environment) or what he sees with his eyes. Instead, he plays roles with his pitchers. About the longest managerial "tradition" in the game that drives me absolutely crazy.
  12. A whole new thread!
  13. No such thing as "go for it". You always try to acquire the best talent, whether that be for tomorrow or 6 years from now.
  14. Maybe without counsell, we'll see a successful attempt at manufacturing a run in the 9th inning.
  15. There was going to come a stretch where the Brewers played .400 ball and the Cubs and Cardinals played 1.000 ball. I'm just shocked it took until mid-July. Cubs have a brutal stretch early August that will keep us "hanging around" but I full expect the Brewers to play closer to .460-.480 ball the rest of the way.
  16. I don't understand CC's offensive approach. Steal 2nd...bunt him over and fly ball. Instead there are two outs and he's still standing on first base.
  17. Bullpen roles are silly. If Hader is the best matchup for a hitter or a group of hitters, he should pitch against that hitter of group of hitters. Whether its in the 5th inning with 1 out or the 13th inning with two outs. Roles are why bullpens fail because managers fall in love with preconceived notions of situations rather than the facts of what is happening in the moment.
  18. I'll take it! Had a feeling Cooper was going for an arm. If he only played 3B, the Red Sox would have done the deal already
  19. What do I win? AL East. 1 for 1 LHP in AAA for Garrett Cooper.
  20. I don't think you can say it doesn't effect them, but I think it's minimal. While not a crapshoot nor an absolute certainty, the Cubs Head to Head lines up 3,4,5 against the Brewers at end of July, 2,3,4 in early September and 3,4,5,1 in late September. So 3 starts? And only see Arrietta and Lester once a piece. I'm not wringing my hands over this. The Brewers have the 3rd easiest schedule, statistically speaking in MLB the 2nd half. Just beat who you should beat, go .500 against the Cubs and Cardinals and make the Cubs play .620 ball over the final 70 games. Quintana doesn't change much with what the Brewers have to do.
  21. The few cubs fans I know don't give a hoot. They won a race and are content to remind you that subsequent races for the next 50 years don't matter to them.
  22. Sounds fun. I'll bite. Team Brewers will trade with: Boston Red Sox Player(s) Brewers will acquire in trade: Jalen Beeks SP (AAA) Player(s) Brewers will trade away in return: Garrett Cooper 1B/OF (AAA)
