  1. I'm going to my first (and probably only) Final Four in my lifetime and my Badgers happen to be in it. I'm going to enjoy the moment no matter what. Prediction is Kentucky 72 Wisconsin 69. That said, if Wisconsin can avoid falling behind early, I think they'll have a decent shot to winning. They HAVE to defend the 3. Get out on the man and stop playing 3pt defense two arms lengths away from the shooter. If Wisconsin is leading at any point in the final 4 minutes, I think they'll win the game. Kentucky has used up their "comebacks to inferior talent" cards.
  2. I'm still open to creating a clan. Had another add last night. I'm gonna do a mass invite tonight. Would any from your current clan be worth porting over?
  3. I apologize. It was making me twitch.
  4. Do we want to open this up to the public or friends to get to 10 so we can actively participate as a clan sooner than later?
  5. Good Lord. Sticking a hand near their chest after the ball is gone while you are crouched away isn't defending. Get out on the man for crying out loud.
  6. Tired of watching the Badgers unwilling to defend the 3. They stand 2 feet inside the arc, seemingly scared to death of somebody driving the lane to their inside help? Predictably, NC buries the uncontested 3's. You'd think after the Kentucky loss last year that they'd guard the opponent beyond the arc, but they don't.
  7. And you are adamant about it too.
  8. To be completely honest, I think the selection committee gave them the 7 seed as a gift. "Kansas keeps ducking you? Alright. Win your first round game, and you guys get them in round 2." Wichita St is, in essence, the 2 seed now. I'm ignorant...do you think the selection committee takes into account "geographical spats" and awards favors or requests?
  9. I live 5 mins from the U of U Campus. They got tons of love in the West USA until they completely crapped the bed in February and March. That said, in my mind, they have a 1% shot of beating Duke.
  10. ^ I'm in
  11. It is much ado about nothing. I've lived it. For 13 years, I've lived it. I'm not using google maps to lament about driving times. I'm not doing climate research to exacerbate something that isn't there. I'm telling you that I've lived in Florida during Spring Training and have taken in several games a year. Let me just throw the silly weather argument out the window. While total rainfall numbers seem alarming as if the apocalypse is bearing down in Florida, you can get large amounts of rainfall numbers in a single rain event. Additionally, the rainfall doesn't typically occur in Florida between noon and 4pm, when most games are played. Most rainfall events occur between 4:45pm-6:45pm in Florida. This is because the afternoon seabreezes compete with each other and flare up as the cooling begins in the late afternoon/early evening. Rain may fall, but it's not falling at times of the day to compete with baseball. In fact, only 5.6% of all grapefruit league games were rained out last year. 13 in total, so basically 1 game somewhere in the state every third day. Yes, Arizona doesn't see as much rain, since it's a desert and all, but the reality is I'm not going to avoid making a Florida trip simply because somewhere in the state sees a rainout every 3rd day. Yes, you are correct that there is distances to be travelled in Florida if one wants to stadium hop every single day over a week or several weeks. Seeing ballparks is my thing and so this just isn't a deterrent for me. That said, If seeing lots of baseball was the main objective of my trip, I wouldn't position myself in Orlando. I'd position myself in the Sarasota Area and be within an hour of 8 parks. We don't know where in Florida the Brewers may position themselves, if at all, but one shouldn't expect to spend 6 hours a day on the road everyday in order to see 3 hours of baseball. Ticket prices are more in Florida. Everything is more in Florida. Hotel prices, rental car surcharges, food prices. Again, I personally am not going out of my way to avoid Florida because a ticket will cost me $14 instead of $10. Just like any sporting event, tickets on the secondary market can be had, if one really wants to go bad enough. I don't consider that a badge of honor that you can always get into Maryvale because they only draw to 65% of capacity. I'm also not basing my schedule decisions on who has a nice grassy knoll to sit on vs a seat. If you do, there are options in Florida. Personally, my kids behave better in a seat. In conclusion, an extra 20 mins on the road (if one doesn't position themselves in Jacksonville) some days, a 5% chance of a rainout, and $20 less dollars (for a family of 4) in my pocket are not compelling enough reasons to lament over the Brewers potentially moving to Florida. If they get better facilities at a cost that significantly helps the bottom line of the franchise, then move. I won't cry one bit.
  12. I used to live in Florida, but I moved away going on 4 years ago. I now live in Salt Lake City, approx a 10 hour drive from Phx. I have no plans of ever returning to Florida. But, having been a resident and having taken in plenty of spring training, the distance between parks, occassional rainout in March, and other factors discussed here are much ado about nothing. If the Brewers get a great situation/offer, they should go.
  13. Wow, I dunno that I ever remember the passing of one of our own regulars. Any cause of death? 35 is too soon. My thoughts are with the loved ones he leaves behind.
  14. Yeah. I wasn't super concerned about needing to be in a war anytime soon and so I made the Clan. I am going to spend the next few weeks doing upgrades, which was tough when my old clan wanted to war every other day. It got to the point that nobody was even donating to the war cc's. If you need to leave for a bit until we get our 10, I understand.
  15. My Dad used to maintain that hotel for their regular pest control service (normal ops, they had no problems). I accompanied him once and was amazed at the facility. There was plenty to do for children and the waterpark features were akin to the Dells as you mentioned. Easy peasy access to I-94 and plenty of restaurants nearby, though I don't have any reviews of them personally. The limited interaction that I recall with their customer service folks seemed top notch. I think you made a great choice.
  16. One of my best friends here in Utah is a Cubs fan and just went down for his first experience of Spring Training. He took in two games and one of them happened to be Maryvale. When asked, he said his impression of it is equivilant to a AA park. Much less accommodating than the AAA park in Salt Lake City that he is accustomed to. I understand the benefit some feel towards being close to the sights and sounds, however I don't think that needs to be lost in a facility that seats more people, has upgraded tools, or sits in another state.
  17. Said back in 2013, wouldnt shock me the least if he never throws another meaningful pitch for the Brewers or anybody else. In fact, Im about counting on it.
  18. I went ahead and created it. You can find it in the search as "BrewerFanDotNet"
  19. Which is basically the only team I thought had any iota of taking out Arizona pre-Elite 8.
  20. I agree with FVBrew, this is collegiate athletics and I have zero expectation that there needs to be parity in collegiate athletics. If the "best" (as defined by prep scouts) prep athletes want to go to the same school, so be it. I think it would be a mistake to further monopolize collegiate athletics by placing dollar values restrictions on programs. I think it would be a mistake to attempt to bring parity to the sport, through monetary means. Just as John Wooden did, the great coaches will retire and new programs will take their place at the top for a few years. The best prep players are going collectively to the best coaches in the nation, not because Duke dishes out more comps than Marquette. Certainly Duke spends more costs in recruiting, but I don't begrudge the current system.
  21. If we can get to 10, I'll start the clan. I don't want to leave my current clan until we get 10 committed. 1. paul 253 2. blancofan1 3. lcbj68c 4. paul 253's brother 5. radman 6. bmuchalways 7. 8. 9. 10.
  22. ^ LOL.
  23. Ditto both thoughts. I've been playing for 11 months now. Level 76 or so. I was in a clan for the first 8 months and they did a war every Saturday/Sunday, sometimes a mid week war and it worked out perfectly. Unfortunately, that clan folded and I joined another clan. Those dummies did a war constantly and were a clan of 25 and about 10 didnt even participate in the wars. So I was spending 400k taking dragons to war and filling war CC's for nothing. That lasted about two weeks before I left. I'm now in a 10-person clan that does a war about every 6 days. However, it's me at #1 and a bunch of noobs. I like that because I can focus on upgrading inbetween rather than building war troops constantly. I'd be down to join a BF clan if somebody wants to start one.
  24. Where is Stone leaning?
  25. Record: 73-89 Playoffs: Emphatic No. Team MVP - Garza Surprises - Brewers pitching staff only allows 600 runs. Disappointments - Brewers Bats only score 530. Bold Predictions: Miller Park hosts a World Series for Cubs vs Red Sox as heavy snow in the final week of October forces games to be moved out of Chicago.
