  1. I don't understand what all the ballyhoo is about. Most of us for YEARS have said having a set closer is ridiculous. Go with the matchups that give you the best opportunity to win and RRR did that with Smith facing those lefties in the 8th and Rodriguez in the 9th. It matters ZERO who gets the overglorified save. The Brewers won and that is all that matters. This fan belief thaat "RRR" does things to favor veteran grittiness is getting old. Give it a rest people. We don't need a defined closer. Everybody in that pen can pitch whatever inning that finds the best matchups in their favor. Maybe this will lead to a transition away from the stupid Save stat in the first place.
  2. Or Connecticut. Wow
  3. The time to get in line varies depending upon the demand for the game. When I have really wanted to ensure I get a seat, I get in line 2 1/2 hours before the gates opens and was usually one of the first ten people in line. They are sold from just 1 window which is near the home plate entrance. You are limited to the number of tickets of whoever is present in line in your party. The Uecker seats begin to sell 90 minutes prior to first pitch (when the gates open). IIRC, there are 112 seats available. They sell out whenever the first 112 people move through the line.
  4. Record: 71-91 All Star: Lucroy Biggest Surprise: Peralta/Estrada combine for more wins/better .ERA than Lohse/Garza Biggest Dissapointment: Segura/Henderson. Brewers starters wont keep them in games and Henderson blows it when they do. Playoffs: Not a chance Place in Division: 5th Playoffs NL: Dodgers, Reds, Nationals, Pirates, Braves Playoffs AL: Angels, Tigers, Orioles, Yankees, Rangers World Series: Tigers over Nationals
  5. Connor Narron (5th round pick 2010?) signed.
  6. That was NOT a charge on Nick Johnson, but for those that feel it's been going against us all game...Karma I suppose.
  7. If Arizona grabs the lead at any point, I feel that's it in OT
  8. ANOTHER horrible possession to end regulation. An 18ftr off isolation? Why he didn't give Kaminsky the ball off the switch is beyond me.
  9. If they drove the basketball, they would have gotten many more foul calls and free throws. Instead, they pass it around the perimeter and jack up horrible shots late in the shot clock.
  10. Good start to the 2nd half. Arizona 4 team fouls in first 4 minutes... Bucky 0
  11. What a horrible possession to end the half. Two offensive rebounds and neither one of them set themselves to make a good effort at it. I think Wisc missed 8 "layups" the whole half.
  12. Feels like Michigan State/B10 Tourney all over again. FG Pct blows.
  13. Can't wait for the first time Uecker this season.... "Getting the sign now...Wang shakes it off"
  14. Crowd is going to be a bigger factor on Saturday.
  15. Clearly my work is done here!
  16. You have 73 posts here and 5 of them are repeated fear-mongoring posts about Wang. Why? He doesn't throw BP and saying so is quite frankly and blatantly dishonest. 2 home runs allowed in nearly 50 innings. BP is indicative of home runs...and monster ones at that. Wang is a talented young man. There hasn't been any conversation regarding him as a closer, but I guess I wouldn't mind a guy that can throw strikes as a closer...unless you like Turnbow/Axford types closing out ballgames for you? Get off our wang!
  17. Not, not at all. I live in Salt Lake City, but travel for a living and happen to be in NYC earlier in the week, so am just driving up.
  18. Anybody else doing the road opener in Boston this year? I'm going to Friday (home opener / WS celebration) and Sunday games. Anybody got any tips on visiting the city/Fenway?
  19. What a 2nd half Bucky. They might have just outlasted the best offense in Division 1.
  20. Scoring defense and opp FG% is killing the Badgers already. Oregon on pace for 110 through the first 10 minutes.
  21. All these discussions and I don't think one of them had Gomez at #1. But that's what we'll be getting... Go ahead and cement #1. Gomez from here on out. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20140322&content_id=69889498&notebook_id=69894680&vkey=notebook_mil&c_id=mil
  22. Now you're just letting reason get it in the way! Why would anyone suggest giving away (trade) EVEN MORE value to another team for something we already have?!? Sometimes runs will be given up without a guy struggling, which was the case in Wang's start. He's still far more valuable than Duke, both today and seasons beyond.
  23. It looks like our wang is going to get some extended work today. He is slated to start.
