  1. Looks like the best we can hope for is a #2 seed in Wichita State's region (Midwest). I expect Michigan to grab the East #1 seed.
  2. He subsequently changed it after I asked him about it on Twitter. Confirmed host cities are not tied to seed.
  3. That's what I read yesterday as well. The locations on the mock bracket are not set it stone. The locations are determined AFTER the seeding is complete. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology A good example of this. Lunardi doesn't even have 6 games in Milwaukee, he only has 3. The error is probably a result of moving around the locations and forgetting to include Milwaukee the second time. (He's got 9 games being played in St. Louis)
  4. Apparently, seeds aren't locked into certain locations, so they could be a #1 and still play in Milwaukee. That's what I read yesterday as well. The locations on the mock bracket are not set it stone. The locations are determined AFTER the seeding is complete.
  5. CBSporstline has Wisconsin a #1 seed, with Villanova falling out. It appears the Villanova loss to an .333 Seton Hall team is a much much worse loss than Wisconsin to Nebraska. If we can win Saturday....
  6. Clearly you've never played Zelda: Link to the Past. Cacti be sneaky & dangerous!
  7. Joe Lunardi had Bucky #2 in the South last night after Kansas/Arizona losses. Disappointed in that. If Villanova can get a quick exit somehow in the Big East Tournament and Bucky goes deep, I think Bucky can get the #1 in the Midwest and they'll move Wichita State to the East (Kansas was there, so not that geographically displaced with Wichita State going there). Would you guys rather have a #1 seed and play in Orlando or St. Louis on the opening weekend....or settle for the #2 seed and play in Milwaukee?
  8. UW-GB very underwhelming tonight vs Milwaukee in their own yard. Tailormade walk to the big dance and they couldn't do it.
  9. I agree, but for whatever reason, every list I see has Villanova ahead of Wisconsin as the next #1 seed in. Arizona just lost to an unraked Oregon, but I don't think that knocks them out. 1. Florida 2. Wichita State 3. Villanova 4. Arizona 5. Wisconsin 6. Virginia One thing that I absolutely want if we are a #2 is to get into Wichita State's region. Not that I think they are even going to make the 2nd weekend, but I'd drool over playing that untested squad in the Elite 8. Interesting Site.. http://www.bracketmatrix.com/
  10. You may defeat our Brewers...but you won't beat our Wang!
  11. International Free Agency - http://players.piratesprospects.com/2012/03/wei-chung-wang.html
  12. I thought our Wang looked impressive today. Displayed some really nice command and touched 96 on the gun. Several lamented over spending the 50k on him in the Rule 5 draft. I know that he's never spent more than a week over High-A, but he had an insane 44-4 K:BB ratio. As a LH, I would love to have him make the 25 man roster if he can keep up the work. Some have said that he has starter material, maybe even a #3 type ceiling. I dont know how'd you pass him back through though to get him to AAA and stretched out. Is he worthy of a 25 man slot if he keeps up today's performance for the entire spring?
  13. Boy, I love how my wang looked today!
  14. A few years ago, we did our fantasy draft at Friday's Front Row on the porch. What better atmosphere than that? IIRC, we did a weekday late afternoon/early evening. I think we took up 4 tables and Friday's didn't have a problem with it. No charge, no food/drink minimums, but I'm sure we spent $150 for 12 guys.
  15. As a former employee of said command center, I can assure you that's not how it went down. While I won't divulge the level of security neccessary to access the slide, it is significantly more than just entering an unsecured field level stadium entrance. That said, in no way shape or form would the seating bowl lights be turned on in order to find the two individuals. The exit to the slide doesn't come close to entering the seating bowl and wouldn't be a prudent place to start looking for subjects that were thought to have gone down the slide. While I have no doubts that access was gained to the stadium, I would almost guarantee they didn't go down the slide and I would know for certain that the response wasn't to turn on the seating bowl lights. The ease at finding subjects inside the stadium is uncanny. No need to turn on seating bowl lights. When I left the organization in 2008, employees weren't allowed to access the slide under any circumstances. In fact, Brewer players have been "disciplined" for accessing the slide in the years that I was there. I would definitely take advantage of this today considering it was a taboo experience then.
  16. Why are we spending the money in free agency here when we have Hunter Morris. He's done his year at every level and I see no reason that he can't play 1B in Milwaukee. Sure, his avg was down last year, but he's a true first baseman. Considering the offense they got from 1B last season, what would be the downside? Without starting pitching, this is a 72 win team with Ike Davis or Hunter Morris. Let's just stick with the in-house option.
  17. ^^^ Love this and I don't understand why it doesn't happen more often. I'd do it to a smart tongued umpire without any qualms. Another one I'd be all for in the NL is instead of getting into a bean-ball fest after being hit intentionally by an opposing pitcher..walk said pitcher in his next atbat then fling the ball over to first base a couple of times in a row with your 1b applying the hardest tag possible on a couple of pickoff attempts.
  18. I came here to mention it as well and found there is already a thread. Its absolutely ridiculous, especially over at LambeauLeap. Sometimes a good 45 seconds to load a page. It's like mid-90's dial up bad. I realize there is no financial incentive to improve it, but good Lord. I left LL after 2 pages tonight.... ain't nobody got time for dat!
  19. Just had to throw some facts into the ring. 1) The Rays are NOT leading the AL East. 2) The Rays are NOT a small market team. The Tampa/St Pete Metro area ranks 13th of all US cities. They are a smaller revenue team, but that is based upon other factors...not their market. I like the way the Rays do baseball business, but having lived there for 11 years, they have zero sense when it comes to the entertainment business. Their failure to dole out big contracts isn't a result of "wanting to", it's a result of "having to" because their gate is so poor. Nothing to do with the incorrect perception that they are a small market franchise. They just went on amazing run of winning 20/24 and are still staring at a wild card positioning. They've overachieved so far in 2013. I fully expect them behind both Baltimore and Boston come late September. Lucky for them, there is a 2nd wild card. Que Suerte!
  20. There is an extensive thread in the trading post about the success/process for getting items autographed by mail.
  21. IIRC...it originated from some Brewers prospect getting called up to the majors. It caused one member to lament that all of the brewers woah's solvdd. (Woes were solved).
  22. I wonder why Sham Dyas was fired?
  23. That's my thought. It's almost as if ESPN/MLB doesn't care about their responsibilities to the JDA and are prepared to issue/announce suspensions in just a few weeks, prior to the appeals process.
  24. Again...wouldn't a suspension a few weeks out from being announced indicate that the players have already been notified and are already in the appeals process...since suspensions can't be announced according to the JDA until appeals have been exhausted?
