  1. I'm not sure how big Jeff Nelson is but Jimmy is 6'6, 245lbs. Good Grief. Autocorrect from mobile. That's a big boy! If he can deal today, I wouldn't mind him starting over Estrada.
  2. How big is Jeff Nelson? The tv feed makes him look built!
  3. Love the lineup as well. Hope we win 20-0.
  4. I took the original post as tounge-in-cheek Yeah, it was. I hoping to see how more ridiculous it could get. Rather than every post starting with, "this will cost us the playoffs", we now have a dedicated thread! #Winning That said, there is only 1 out in the top of the 1st inning with 3 runs in but I change my analysis for the day. The architect and builder for the Marlins new stadium could cost us the playoffs. If they don't put a roof on that place, yesterday gets rained out and we would have won both games today.
  5. New Title (May 25th @ MIA). Too funny!
  6. Help me catch up. It is indeed impossible to remember the cry of the day. I guess I could go back and look through the IGT's. Today's reason will be a "Roenice went with a Sunday lineup vs a soft tossing Randy Wolf" I can see it now. Wolf 7IP 0ER 2H 3BB 4K (W 1-0) Nelson 5IP 5ER 9H 2BB 2K (L 0-1)
  7. Being Bianchi was outrighted (off the 40-man), I sincerely hope he decides to refuse his assignment. That way, Melvin is never tempted to bring him back to Milwaukee ever again.
  8. Everyday there seems to be a new reason for "why we'll miss the playoffs". So I figured we'd start tracking it and at the end of the year we can take a massive vote without forgetting out on all the little reasons. 1) Wei Chung Wang makes opening day roster. Wang makes the 2nd day roster...Wang makes 3rd...et al 2) Ron Roenicke is a dummy and lets F. Rodriguez close on opening day, blowing Henderson's confidence for the entire season. 2) Aramis Ramirez hits the DL again, Lyle Overbay sees 100 plate appearances. 3) Brandon Kintzler repeatedly pitches in close games and lets inherited runners score like the Titanic took on water. 4) While allowing coaches to celebrate their children's high school graduation, Roenicke sends Maldonado down to warm up a 2nd pitcher and the wrong pitcher warms up and is not ready, leading to Kintzler's runner to score. 5) Gomez makes the 3rd out at 3rd base with the tying run short of scoring in the 7th inning of a 1 run ballgame. 6) Jeff Bianchi sees 58 plate appearances. 7) Segura can't throw out Casey McGahee on a routine ground ball.
  9. Didn't hear the soundbite. It doesn't "read" like he blamed Braun. I chuckled at the title. For fiasco, I was expecting a video of a triple play with multiple people crossing each other on the basepaths, similiar to a clown car performance. Instead, Gomez was thrown out by a perfect throw for a single out.
  10. It is what it is. Yelich made the play. Tip of the cap.
  11. It feels like I'm repeating myself, but the only ways Wang can be off Milwaukee's 25-man roster: 1) He is waived and claimed by another club. 2) He is traded to any club, however that club MUST keep Wang on their own 25man roster. 3) He is waived and not claimed by another club and Pittsburg takes him back for $25k, placing him into their own minor league system. 4) He is waived, not taken by another club & Pittsburg declines to take him back for the measley 25k and instead allows Milwaukee to keep him in exchange for something else of value. 5) He is placed on the 15day or 60day DL. However, he would need 90 days of service time on the active roster over two years if placed on the DL. He has 56 days already. He COULD gain 28 days in September when rosters expand and still not need to pitch and "hurt the Brewers playoff chances". As of 5/24/14, he would need essentially 6 more days (+ Sept) on the active roster in order to satisfy the 90 day requirement and be able to be placed in Huntsville, Brevard, or wherever next year. Unless of course, you think the DL detectives are going to come running and investigate his placement on the DL. Of which, I've yet to find any precident for.
  12. I thought Fiers was way outperforming Nelson? Is the timing on Fiers not line up?
  13. Lying is cheating, we get it. We are saying it's not a lie to conclude that a drop in mph in ball speed can be concluded as arm fatigue. It doesn't take a giant conspiracy, akin to a Watergate investigation, to put someone on the DL with arm fatigue. "We feel his arm is tired" is all the Brewers need to say. I don't even think it need collaboration by a single doctor, trainer, agent, player, or otherwise. There is no hit to the players salary for this move and he has no reason to shout to the rooftops that his arm isn't fatigued.

  15. Is it time to think about Fiers over Estrada? The home runs have got to stop.
  16. John Heyman has learned the following: "Is it possible that like the Red Sox, the Mariners will act to re-sign their own player once they are convinced they won't be receiving a draft choice by virtue of him signing elsewhere before the draft? Seattle is said to have loved Morales on the field and in the clubhouse, and it is believed the Mariners have maintained occasional contact with Morales, who had 23 homers and 80 RBI for them in 2013. Justin Smoak (.232 batting average, .709 OPS) has been only OK, Logan Morrison has been hurt, and Corey Hart just went on the disabled list with hamstring trouble. The Mariners, with a .670 team OPS (27th best in baseball) could use the offensive boost, especially if they believe they have a chance to contend. They spent more money than anyone but the Yankees to give themselves an opportunity to compete. If the Mariners, now 22-23, believe they have a shot at a wild card, they may stretch the budget just a little more. Possible." 17. For those concerned about Hart's health...it's another 4 to 6 weeks of inactivity for Hart. http://seattletimes.com/html/mariners/2023675770_marinersnotebook23xml.html Along with Fielder being out for the year, it appears the Rangers and Mariners are back in the hunt for Morales for different reasons.
  18. If teams are smart, they take out insurance policies for contracts like Fielder's and then they aren't wrecked for years to come.
  19. Atlanta tv crew said Duke touching the rubber is what made it official and that is what the replay was looking for/confirmed.
  20. He chose to pitch Kintzler instead of Wang...everything else thereafter didn't matter.
  21. He chose to pitch Kintzler instead of Wang...everything else thereafter didn't matter.
  22. Kintzler again in a close game...when will Roenicke learn?
  23. Fielder done for the year? http://espn.go.com/dallas/mlb/story/_/id/10970992/prince-fielder-texas-rangers-considering-season-ending-neck-surgery
  24. Meanwhile the team loses 4-8 games in that process because Wang has given up 20Runs. This team is going to lose 60+ games... why are we worked up over 4-8 games in which we are already losing and Wang's .ERA? I don't think anybody is guaranteeing that he be put on the DL at exactly the 90-day mark, they are simply trying to present options that are available under the rules of the Rule 5 Draft. They are trying to pacify the outcries by showing you that there are other things that are possible and probably smarter options than outright waiving a talented left handed pitcher that averages 93mph on his fastball. We can continue to debate his selection in the draft altogether or his placement on the 25-man roster, but every day that passes it becomes more and more foolish to desire the option of an outright release for the simple sake of having a Jimmy Nelson come up and throw once every 10 days in blowouts, because well, "he's earned it". Something will happen for one reason or another that I believe Wang won't spend every one of the 180 days on the roster. I do know that we won't be trading with the Pirates without exposing him to waivers. And rest assured, there is SOME team out there amongst the other 28 that would have no problem with him pitching in blowouts for the next 3 months themselves.
