  1. They said Jenkins was a late scratch today, so he was intended to start but was unable to.
  2. At least the Cubs are losing. A 3-7 road trip against the Pirates, Nats, and Cubs to end the first half isn't exactly what I was hoping for.
  3. I second the Yosted post. I realize you can't just pull a guy that quickly, but once 5 straight batters reached base, Capuano should have been out.
  4. Whenever I get down on Suppan, I remind myself he is supposed to be Doug Davis and then I feel better. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif Suppan generally pitches better in the second half according to his career norms, so we can hope he'll only get better. To answer the question, no, I don't believe Suppan was the wrong choice. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  5. Outside of the Milwaukee area the game is on FSN, in the Milwaukee area it is in WMLW. I am somewhat disappointed I will miss the pink posting fest both yesterday and today, but those are the breaks. Hopefully we get another W and I'll be participating in the pink posting fest tomorrow! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  6. I would find a picture of the Wrigley flags with the Brewers on top and send it to him and tell him he can't talk until the Cubs flag is flying on top. lol
  7. Damian Miller is the only Brewer to have faced Bacsik, and he's 0-2. The Nats overall hit Bush pretty well in a small sample.
  8. Hall jumped pretty high using the wall to propel himself up, and when he came down he took the entire brunt of the drop with his ankles and it looked like his right ankle flexed and turned on him. You can see the play on brewers.com. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. Just over three years to the day Junior Spivey was lost for the season in Pittsburgh (7/2/04), Hall goes down today for what we can expect to be a decent amount of time. That '04 team went on to one of the most wrenched second half records in team history. Granted, this team is light years more talented than that team, but it makes me wonder if there is any credence to this PNC curse other than our 19-40 record. I really didn't want to buy into the house of horrors thing, even though as a fan I personally believe in it, but just thinking about all of the weird things that have happened to us and our players related to PNC kind of cements it. Capuano and Turnbow came back from PNC last year and were never the same. Pittsburgh stopped us from finally finishing over .500 in 2005. There was the 2004 season debacle. It is just all circumstance, but it is really weird, haha.
  10. My gut instinct says no, but at the same time I would probably say there is a higher probability of injury in those players who leave their feet/crash into walls/etc. more often than those who don't. Realistically though, you can blow out a knee taking a wrong step in the outfield, or tweak a hammy trotting to first base, so in the end I think all of the injuries even out. Obviously guys like Griffey and Edmonds are posterboys for people who have been injured making flashy plays, but we've also seen Griffey get injured on some of the most routine plays he has made. Also, I don't recall Andruw Jones missing a whole lot of time due to a fielding injury and he has made his fair share of flashy catches. In some ways the human body can only take so much punishment, as shown by some of the guys who have broken their arm by just simply throwing a pitch. When the body is ready to go, it goes. Playing all out may speed up that process, but I don't think by not playing all out you could stop an injury from happening if it is going to happen.
  11. I'd like to throw my hat in the ring for this. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. If you're bound to be injured, you're bound to be injured. Granted, Hall does take a lot of chances in the outfield because he has such great athleticism and eventually we all knew it was going to bite him. On the flip side, if he catches that ball its a shot of adrenaline in the Brewers dugout, so I'd rather see him try than not try at all.
  13. mlb.mlb.com/news/article....ed=rss_mil It just talks about basically what we already know, it is a high ankle sprain, although crutches and a walking boot don't exactly indicate something which will be a week injury and he's back in the lineup.
  14. I hate the Pirates. Ugh. Lets hope for a better showing against the Nationals.
  15. I keep trying to remind myself it is good Gorzelanny is left handed. As I said for Sheets' last start, go get 'em. Left handed lineup, I demand production. That means you, Mench. And especially you, Weeks.
  16. To steal a page from AJAY: Booooooooooo!
  17. The 9th will probably go groundout, strikeout, strikeout. *sigh* Or alternately, groundout, strikeout, walk, strikeout. *sigh* Snell is a good pitcher though, and Vargas had one of those Vargas days.
  18. Since when did we reacquire Brady Clark? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  19. I swear, I have the anti-mikevan bathroom karma. Whenever I go take a shower during a game and listen on the radio, we inevitably give up runs. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif ... I try to plan it out while we're hitting, but it doesn't really work.
  20. Johnny Estrada is back to his old tricks in the 5 hole. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  21. At least Craig made that a 6 pitch inning instead of a 4 pitch inning. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  22. A good luck haiku for Vargas: Independence Day Vargas pounds meat, avoid rain Ryan supplies runs
  23. When I made that statement, I was thinking about the many threads dedicated to talk of acquiring an Adam Dunn type, and I doubt Gwynn, Jackson, Sarfate, etc. would net a Dunn type. I was more talking about the other prospects people seem to be high on having to be traded to upgrade. I wouldn't mind seeing Gwynn, Jackson, or Sarfate sent away to upgrade the current roster.
  24. Yeah, it rained during the fireworks, but the show went on. The lightening and random planes were competing for viewing time, but all in all it was pretty good. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  25. I read somewhere it was going to be his big league debut, but then I researched it and realized they were wrong. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif I will never trust the internet again. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
