Now that Casey got a big hit, I think he should go back to hitting fifth. Jerry Meals says it's safe. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
This. I'm all for the Pirates losing, but not like that. To play 19 innings and get sent home on that call is ridiculous. There has to be some kind of accountability.
Braves aren't really doing much. Jim Powell is regaling the radio listeners with stories of Billy Wagner beaning his own child in a father-son wiffleball game due to showboating a home run, that was amusing.
Another worthwhile test for the lucky polo, hawing. Braves have the bases loaded against banana glove (I can't help but calling him that, in his start against the Brewers he had a horrendously yellow glove). Astros were, well, the Astros. Hopefully the Braves can get back in this game.
I'm trying to think of good things to say about the Astros, but I can't think of any. They're due? They are equally as bad no matter where they play. I'll hope for the best, though.
Considering some may riot if Kotsay starts at 1B over Prince, I somewhat doubt Prince gets the day off today. The only way I could see it is if McGehee plays 1B and Wilson plays 3B.
There is the Club Goodwill section where you can buy a loge bleacher seat day of game only for $10. It is the last section of bleachers above the Brewers bullpen. I haven't purchased tickets for the section, but I guess you can get them at the ticket windows by the H-D deck entrance.
Braun said he is fine, this is all part of "the plan" to ease him back in. That's per Haudricourt and McCalvy, of course. It makes sense. He'll be available to PH today, start the next two games and get a built in day off Monday.
I was able to get in at 9:01am, but kept getting the "high volumes" error. I'm no programmer, but you'd think there would be a way to throttle the traffic a bit better so that the people who actually do get in can get tickets instead of revolving in the never ending loop of error frustration.
Uecker was saying it looks like Prince is feeling for the ball more than taking his normal hacks. The body language Prince is giving after his swings shows he isn't seeing the ball very well right now. He's had a pretty rough month (by his standards, anyway).
This is just me speculating, but my guess is at this point it is going to linger for most of the year, so it is all management at this point. They likely sent him for that second MRI to ensure there wasn't any structural damage to see if he could play through it without injuring it further. Without any tear he'd realistically may have to sit out three weeks to a month for it to fully heal and feel normal, which is something the team likely couldn't withstand while in a playoff race. I'm sure he knows that and probably had a say in staying active. As much as an outfielder has to run they really can't coddle him as much as someone at a more stationary position. They can tell him to run at 50% on the bases though and monitor his outfield innings.
Haudricourt and McCalvy tweeted Braun won't play the full game tonight as they're going to ease him back in, but it is no cause for panic. It'll be like spring training for him, I guess.
