  1. George Kottaras could have done better than that. He can also at minimum take a walk. I don't know what kind of clout Nieves has, but it must be strong for him to still be around.
  2. Sha la la la la, sideburns, uh huh. Nice job, Mark.
  3. Well, this is the game that not having a LOOGY came back to bite us. Not that RRR would have used him anyway because Loe has to pitch the 8th inning, but it's just the principle. Tough loss.
  4. That error was just, wow. I don't even know what else to say about that.
  5. I'll go 14-13, but I could easily see higher with a break here or there.
  6. I didn't expect that, but I guess that's why it worked. Nice way to win.
  7. I've personally begun referring to JonLuc as the anti-black-hole. When we get those days of a black hole at the bottom of the lineup, he tends to save them batting 8th. He's off to a great start, hopefully he can keep it up.
  8. They picked up the wrong DFA'ed Diamondback. Wilson seems to be a warm body at this point, but we'll see. Hopefully at some point this year we can do something to beef up the bench.
  9. I do think the Brewers probably could have foreseen this outcome, although the blame definitely goes to those individuals involved. The Brewers have already changed Autograph Fridays, Brewers On Deck, and the Block Parties because of similar behavior(s), so it is only realistic to expect the same thing would happen with this type of giveaway. It's not just isolated to Brewers fans or those looking to make a quick buck here in Wisconsin, obviously, but it's still disappointing.
  10. Yeah, I'm not surprised at all about how this turned out. I took a stroll through the park by my house before work, but came up empty. I've seen so many people hoard free Brewers stuff over the years I figured this was going to be a disaster. The intent came from a good place by the Brewers, but the failed logic was to expect everyone would play nice.
  11. Ah, Sunday B-Squad baseball. If one player could ever designate a B-Squad, it'd be Wil Nieves. I'll be at the ballpark today optimistically hoping the roof will be open with the Braun special. As long as this isn't another 4 and a half hour affair. Lineup: Weeks - Kotsay - Braun - Fielder - McGehee - Betancourt - Nieves - Gomez - Wolf
  12. What a game, and I sat at the park through all 4 hours and 35 minutes of it, lol. It was good to see the blasts by Casey to keep us in it and YuniB to tie it up. Prince's shot was a monster. You could hear a pin drop when Mitre gave up the run, then McClendon, but the offense picked those guys up. Clutch AB by Lucroy earlier in the game, too. Pinch running Nieves was kind of funny, but considering Rivera took one to the leg, it was prudent. They'll need a strong outing from Marcum tomorrow, but this one tonight is to be enjoyed. During the game they kept playing the Macho Man "Ooooooh Yeah!" clip when good things happened. There were two sausage races, and a 14th inning stretch. Pretty epic.
  13. Wish we'd have gotten more than two there, but we'll take what we can get. Random thought: if there is a twitter account for Dan Uggla's arms, Mark Kotsay's sideburns are worthy of their own twitter account, too.
  14. Oh Stetter. The Pirates radio guys are mulling completely in the Pirates woes, while at the same time laughing at Stetter's lack of velocity and sidearm delivery.
  15. This was a fun game to be at. The blown call at 2B on the YuniB tag was ridiculous. How they couldn't get that right is beyond me. It was one of those nights where every time the lineup rolled over to Gomez it was with runners on and he'd put together 2-3 good pitches in a row, then go to hacking. He was up 3-1 and took two awful swings the first time. I was impressed RRR went with Estrada for two instead of tinkering with using Stetter and Hawkins in the 8th (as he had them warming). I thought for sure he was going to go to the manager's book of having to use a set-up guy in the 8th inning with the lead. Nice to see Yo help himself. I had no problem with Yo batting in the 6th even though it was evident his day was done because Estrada was warm by the end of the top half and was just kind of long tossing to stay loose. Get these wins when you can!
  16. If Gomez runs that out all the way, does he pass Kotsay and/or try for an inside the park home run? lol.
  17. Gomez's sunglasses died happy on that catch. Popped the lens right out after landing on them. lol
