  1. Haudricourt tweeted that Gamel likely won't be called up. Hooray, Kotsay? I can see it now, Kotsay at first, Fielder DH. Kotsay in left, Braun DH. Yet, it has been said RRR doesn't have control over roster decisions.
  2. COOOOP, shh. Don't give the Cubs a competitive advantage. We both know that's the Thursday day after a night game lineup. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Hopefully we can get off the deck today and get a win. I really hope Casey can turn it around soon. Teams are finally figuring out not to pitch to Prince.
  3. Opening day was worse. This was just typical of the way we've played on the road this year.
  4. Considering the wind is blowing in tonight, I'd slightly be tempted to pinch hit for McGehee with Plush. In any case, go Casey!
  5. Now Braddock is warming, nice. It appeared Braun had an opportunity to catch that, but just kind of whiffed it.
  6. Wolf and Nieves did this on purpose, knowing the Cubs would pull Dempster. That's how gritty veterans roll.
  7. Nieves dropping a few points would assume Wolf is still pitching well, so at least there would be that. I'm taking the over as well. Win one for Noah!
  8. I'm sure RRR will say based on the count it's likely Dempster would groove one to the pitcher and that's why the play was called.
  9. Which of these is more likely: a) Wil Nieves getting a hit or b) YuniB not swinging at the first pitch in two AB's tonight? If I had to pick, I'd ride with YuniB, which is sad. The fact Nieves is so entrenched in a roster spot blows my mind more than Kotsay in CF or any of the other stuff. You'd think he's Pudge in his prime defensively the way they talk about him. In any case, hopefully Wolf can pitch a good game and we can take home a win against the traditionally stingy Dempster. Gotta keep the mojo going, right?
  10. Nice day at the ballpark. Great to sweep the classies and take control of first place. Keep the good times rolling! What a difference quality starting pitching makes.
  11. Exactly. LOL My hope is the balance mitigates the opportunity to pitch around guys waiting for that soft underbelly of 5-9 we have seen in some games already this year.
  12. I actually don't mind the lineup too much. If it were McGehee, Kotsay, Yuni towards the bottom we start getting into black hole territory again. Kotsay 2, McGehee 5, Yuni 7 balances that out slightly more than if they were bunched together.
  13. Sha la la la la Sunday lineup. I figured Kotsay would be playing today. Get a good outing by Marcum and have those brooms on standby. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. The gold jerseys burn my eyes a bit, and I like flashy things. Like PrinceEatMeat said, they don't blend well with the white and blue. Now if they had blue pants or a white hat it might be a different story.
  15. Nice to see the 'crew take it to the Cardinals in such a fashion. I slightly worried about Narveson's big inning theme as the game wore on, but he worked out of his only real trouble spot in the 8th. I knew I smelled burnt popcorn, then hawing let me know the kettle corn stand had a little boo boo. The plume of smoke in right field was a dead giveaway, too.
  16. Hooray, Brewers! I was at the sauna tonight. Kameron Loe was roundly booed, which was slightly unfortunate. Prince is locked in right now with the home runs. I like how they play "Plush" by STP every time Morgan does something good. Nice to steal a victory from the jaws of defeat.
  17. Apparently Cron's cousin is Chad Moeller. There is a built in Brewers trivia question if he's drafted by the Brewers.
  18. Hopefully Dillard can pitch a clean inning and we can scratch out a run in the 11th with the gritty part of the lineup. Bullpen is looking sparse with just Ax and Mitre left.
  19. I'm not sure how we got out of that inning, but I'll take it.
  20. I'd have preferred to pinch hit with Gomez there, but eh. That's just nitpicking. You think RRR will use Loe for 2 if we don't score, or will we go to the bullpen B-Squad of Dillard et al.? Edit: FSN answered my question, looks like it will be Hawkins if no one scores.
  21. Every time I see Weeks make a play like the one that ended the first inning it reminds me how far he's come defensively. A few years ago he doesn't make that play, and if he tries it ends up pretty ugly. Beware of booming foul balls while Craig Counsell is batting.
  22. That's unfortunate. I'd started to lean on AirTran for my flying needs after Midwest started to go down. The business class upgrades were great (and actually a pretty good deal when you factor in bag fees that are waived when you upgrade). I'm also a fairly large traveler, so I enjoyed the convenience of reasonable pricing and ample seating.
  23. Way to swing at three balls, Hayes. We appreciate that. Nieves-esque. Braun is really good at baseball. Brewers win!
