I have been getting on Spurling too because he has been getting lucky. He constantly allows deep flies and line shots right at people, but not today. They are landing in for hits. I love this team to a fault and a couple guys screw up a great effort that are just not that good. I even like Graffy and Counsell. However, please lose Spurling for Cappellan. Don't use Turnbow in the 8th and bat Bill Hall 6th or lower and I will be happy.

Anybody...I mean anybody who thinks Turnbow is still a money pitcher just really need to watch this guy more often. He is lights out about 70% of the time and everyone gets excited and praises him. Last year I had enough of him, but like a good fan I gave him a chance with me. No more chances with me. Walking Willy Harris when the guy is not even swinging is pathetic. I am not even blaming Yost today, but I expect him to stop liking this bum in key situations night after night.

Turnbow kills this franchise. When he went down the tubes last year, so did the season. That game in Philly was a classic example as well. We have not played well since. He should be the seventh inning guy to and have Wise be the 8th inning guy. Or flip-flop them at least.

    Finally...a slider.
  5. bobskube
Take him out now! All fastballs...why?
  6. bobskube
Willy Harris is a "must" out. Otherwise, take his butt out.
  7. bobskube
This is why Turnbow is not tight game material on multiple nights. Throwing only wild fastballs. Due to throw a meatball soon.
  8. bobskube
All fastballs and no sliders from TBow so far is really scary.
  9. bobskube
Chip and his buddy are talking about TBow closing next year. Let's hope that won't be the case.

Here we go again... TBOW just scares me.
  11. bobskube
Big ABs here. I would bat Rickie. They won't though.

Don't want to jinx Bush now by complementing him, but , yes, he looks good.
  13. bobskube
Bush pitching very well and I hope this can carry over for a couple starts. Ideally, I would like to see Vargas in the pen and have Bush be the #5 starter with Gallardo being the 4th.

59 pitches so far for Hudson. We are really beating it in the ground. Big inning for Bush here with the big boys coming up.

I never realized a player of Hall's ability could struggle so much in CF. That was Jenkins ball all the way and Hall almost botched it. I know CF is the captain, but the ball was Jenkins all the way. I really struggle to see why Center is so hard. I played ball there and it was always pretty natural. Especially after Hall played SS and 3rd, which I never could have played because they are really far more difficult. Yount didn't have any problems.

That was crushed. Bush can't throw meatball like that because he is down in the count 2-0. He needs to nibble a bit more and risk a walk vs a HR more often.

I will not sleep tonight if something happens here.

I cannot say how important that slider is to Turnbow. No one ever sits on it. It can be a hanger and it won't matter. However, he only has it half the time and that is not good enough. Looked good today though and someone made an excellent point and said his fastball was moving. It was not straight as a string.
  19. bobskube
Great slider. 0-2 on Edgar. Throw two more
  20. bobskube
One good slider so far. He is relying on fastball again.
  21. bobskube
I never feel any confidence with Tbow in. Hopefully, he will ease my pain today. I don't think he is consistent enough to be 8th inning guy. Maybe I'll be wrong...missed two sliders but struck out first hitter of inning.
  22. bobskube
Its all about TBOW betting slider over. Will it be here today?
  23. bobskube
Bill Hall- What have you done for me lately?
  24. bobskube
Post of the day... Great holiday weekend, huh? Bill Hall is killing this team right now. Corey Hart is a punch-and-judy hack at the moment. Mench is useless. Bench management has been brutal. I was going to use a win today to take me through three hours of yard work this evening. Now I just have to stew, back to the cruddy work week tomorrow. I've got my health, and my family's health, so stay in perspective, but man, this just blows.
  25. bobskube
Hart is a guy I question a bit. He is a guy that needs to play 70% so we can see if he is any good, then we can see what kind of player he is. If he struggles, send him down. He is not helping starting twice a week.
