  1. This has nothing really to do with the bar, buddy. Just an added thought. The guy is not a MLB pitcher. That is the point.
  2. Team, I am not going to throw any major stats out here on this one at all and this is strictly an observation. I think sometimes stats get in the way of things sometimes. Critique as you may. Chris Spurling is not a Major League Pitcher. Period. I do understand he has had personal problems lately and I wish him the best, but at the same time he is just not good. He is very Winklesas-Simpson-esque. Batters have a great average against him and his outs are very LOUD outs. Not good. I know many people on here claim that he is what he is-and that is a mop up guy. However, he is a very bad mop up guy. I would much rather see a young guy like Parra get his chance doing that so maybe he can prove that he is not a "mop-up guy." Spurling will never be better than that though. His stuff is very, very mediocre with a "straight as a string" fastball, a curveball that hangs, and mental makeup of a 20 year old at college. For anyone that thinks he should be on this roster-please post and explain to me why.
  3. Like I have said every time since May...this game is over. We never come back. 2.5 games-love it.
  4. When have the Brewers come back and won a game when down in the 8th all year. game over.
  5. rickie, my favorite player, is absolutely lost up there. Needs some time in the minors. His confidence cannot get any lower than it is now. Also, we can recoup some Arby time.
  6. It worries Cordero fastball not hitting... Oh, just was 96!
  7. Larry Young call is going to cost us. We are going to be down again after 6 which in 2007 is an automatic loss.
  8. Oh, by the way, when does someone start the inevitable "Vinny Rottino" thread? That usually gets a laugh or two when we start slumping.
  9. Why is Jenkins not playing? Yes, I know he has been subpar lately, but you cannot have Gross-Gwynn-Counsell-pitcher in the order. To me that is just stupid. I think they should just use Gwynn as an extra baserunner or defensive replacement.
  10. Guys...sometimes you think the Brewers are going to explode and score alot. Today does not seem like one of those days.
  11. It looked like Shouse may have hurt himself on the play. Parra?
  12. Rickie saves the day! God, Spurling truly is awful.
  13. Can we ever steal a game away like we give them away? Have blown at least 6 games in 8th and 9th and exactly have comeback late zero times.
  14. I think the move on not bringing Shouse in may carry us to victory. I doubt it though.
  15. Keep Wise out there against LaRouche. Period.
  16. No 9th inning rallies that won ballgames at all.
  17. The Cubs are for real and we sit here and pee another one down our pants.
  18. I love giving away ballgames. This one is over. Mark it and blast me. 7-4 loss in the book. The Brewers do not come back late in ballgames this year. (Except games against Minnesota and Philly-both losses.)
  19. I was right. Vargas is done. When a pitcher goes about 15 starts without pitching into the 7th...that ought to tell you something.
  20. I keep telling myself that Vargas will go to the pen after a bad outing, but the Brewers keep winning so they can give the excuse that Vargas only pitches in winning ballgames.
  21. Guys, good to be back home in Chicago. Bad approach by the Brewers since the first. I am sick to my stomach right now. This is usually the beginning of the end for Vargas.
  22. Im surprised they did not pinch hit for Bush there. Horrible luck this game with a mix of bad "D", bad fielding, and one atrocious ump call.
  23. Every time that the Brewers have a series here, there is someone who inevitably blasts Cub fans and Wrigley. I do agree that Cub fans are annoying as a whole and half of the bad fans ruin it for half of the good Cub fans. Being a Brewer fan that has relocated to Chicago, I can really understand that. However, all Brewer fans are not saints either. Plenty of dirt bags in Miller Park every game. I wonder how some of them get in. Anyway, Wrigley also has its flaws; no doubt about that. Traffic sucks, troughs disgusting, and food sucks. It does have a certain charm though and has an awesome neighborhood to stay and party in. My advice is that if you hate Wrigley so much-don't come. Quit complaining about things that you can avoid. Miller Park is an awesome place to watch a game. Go there.
  24. I just dont like turnbow as a player. He should be used as sparingly as possible. Now Shouse. Don't like him either.
