  1. pitchleague, i agree with you on the 7th inning stretch!!! It seemed eerily quiet. To me the crowd had about the same enthusiasm level as the home crowd at a Dbacks regular season game.
  2. Just got back from the ballpark, today's game was surprisingly a sell out. I figure it must have been from alot of Spring Breakers in town because I heard alot of people say they were from "Wiscahhnsin". Anyhow, it was overall a good game, Sanchez started out hot but then fell apart in the 3rd inning by walking 3 batters. Suppan was well, Suppan, I dont know how he can make the starting 5 based on the way hes been pitching. Lorenzo Cain looked pretty decent today, seems to have a pretty solid approach at the plate.
  3. as of this post its been raining pretty much nonstop since yesterday afternoon. Forecast is for rain through tomorrow. I was hoping to catch a game on one of my 2 days off but it doesnt look like that is going to happen!!!

  5. I just got back from watching the team workout today, I have tons of pics, I will try and post some of them later today/tonight. Even got to meet Mark A. too.
  6. Yeah that 6 limit thing complicates it a bit. Its funny when I first submitted my plate request to the DMV (oh wait, its the MVD out here) they sent me a rejection letter saying it was "possibly derogatory or offensive" and would have to goto a committee for review. I couldnt for the life of me figure out how it was derogatory or offensive other than them thinking it was a name of a "party crew" or maybe "brown crew" (hispanic gang connotations) but that seemed like a pretty big stretch to me.
  7. I will be going to some games this spring since I live out here, its been a weird winter weather wise so far, it just rained for the last 2 days and we even had hail today. Hopefully most of it will be gone before ST really gets under way. As to the person who posted about needing hotel information, I know im a little late but there are some decent out of the way hotels up by where I live around I-17 and Happy Valley Rd. There is a Hampton Inn,Hilton Garden Inn, Courtyard Marriott and a couple others. They are all close to several restaurants and have easy access to I-17 and Loop 101 which will get you most places in the Valley in 30 min or so.
  8. since we're on the subject.... http://i45.tinypic.com/2holdp3.jpg
  9. Just picked this movie up last night at Barnes and Nobles here in Phoenix. This movie was recommended to me by a friend of mine who is friends with several Dominican MLB players and she said its a pretty accurate portrayal. I must say it is a very good movie, even though it is mostly in spanish (but it is subtitled)
  10. and AZ too!!! I had to change it or i was liable to throw the remote at the tv...
  11. I dont know if the team hotel is the same for all the teams, but alot of teams stay at the Westin Convention Center hotel a few miles from PNC.
  12. saw this posted in the az news today....really doesnt say alot but still mentions Lopez and Davis.. http://www.azcentral.com/sports/diamondbacks/articles/2009/06/28/20090628dbtrade-CR.html
  13. Even something like a Moto Razr might not be a bad idea. My parents (late 50s) are not very avid cell phone users, but they can make and receive calls without issue. I believe they have one of the base model Samsung phones from Alltel.
  14. I have DirecTV. I generally just tune in ch 669 (the RSN Alternate) , and am able to watch the games. I seem to remember when I had Cox (cable) I would rarely get dual feeds, but that was also 3 years ago.
  15. Add me to the crowd of finding the ARI broadcasts absolutely intolerable. Seems alot of people out here in Phoenix think of Daron and Mark as some kind of heroes bringing the carnival atmosphere to the game. Their antics are just downright annoying, they said they wanted more signs of the stands so now you see people with signs that say "CAR" on them for when there is a stop in play, Mark Grace says every strike is "gas". The "Redheads" is a spinoff of the Buckethead Brigade. Anyways, back on topic. I've had EI for 3 years now, it is nice that they have finally added the home and away feeds to the package so there are minimal games where I have to watch the opposing teams PbP. The MLB Mix channel (i think its a directv thing) is pretty cool as well, shows 6-8 games all on one screen and you can select the audio you like. I also have mlb.tv premium for when I travel, and I will say it has gotten alot better the last couple of years, but I have had similar issues as a previous poster with regards to the NextDef codec. One other note, on the games where I cant watch FSNWI, I just listen to Uke on gameday audio through my home theatre. Ive noticed that it almost syncs up perfectly with maybe a 3-5 second delay at most. Seems in years past it was a 30+ second delay in the tv feed and gameday audio. Anyone else notice this??
  16. I generally use the same method that pitchleague uses. Here in AZ I usually just get Johnsonville unless I order brats directly from Klements. Last night I bought brats from the Safeway deli. They were actually very delicious. When I'm at my parents in Menomonie, I usually will get the deli brats from Marketplace Foods (local grocery store) and those are pretty good too. For Opening Day this year my buddy and I bought a package of brats from Roundys and threw them on the charcoal grill, they were good albiet maybe a bit too spicy.
  17. I have the $10 walmart special mini grill! My buddy and I bought it last year for opening day after he realized he left half of his propane camping grill at his house. We half assembled it when we got to the ballpark. Its our little joke now that the mini grill has to make its appearance at every game we go to. So far its seen 2 opening day's and one playoff game. We busted the handle on it this year though. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  18. i was at the game yet my group some how managed to not get the magnets, if anyone has any extra they would be willing to send my way it would be appreciated, I'll pay for shipping!
  19. Did anyone else who has the extra innings package run into the same issue I have ran into? Tonight the game was on 734 with the Reds feed, not my first choice, but being in AZ I have to deal. Anyways, made it all the way through the top of the 9th inning, and hit that 3 hour mark and they stopped the game feed and went to the Best Damn Sports show. I checked my DVR last night when I got back to Phoenix from being in WI for Opening Day, same thing, the bottom of the 9th was cut off. Irritating to say the least.
  20. lol, I like this quote... Ballpark Area Info Maryvale was once a nice neighborhood. But those days are long gone. To be politically correct, the ballpark is now in an economically depressed section of Phoenix. Essentially, you go to Maryvale, watch the game and leave, although you do have the option of eating at one of the nearby restaurants. To be fair, Maryvale is nowhere near being a slum. It's just a neighborhood where inglés is a second language and you don't want to be after dark. -------------------------------------- However it is true, when I was at the A's game on the 27th, I sat next to some folks from Milwaukee who were asking me about the Maryvale area, I basically told them the same thing this article says. There is some great authentic Mexican food over in that area though...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. Nothing here either, or on my parents emails,a couple buddies of mine in Milwaukee also havent gotten any emails either way yet.
  22. Jenks got his ring!!!!
  23. just watching game 5. Jenks just hit a double and it was actually really cool how pumped up he got. Im happy for him getting the chance for a ring.
  24. Yeah i am kind of in the same boat, I dont recall seeing an option to buy parking with my tickets either. Unfortunately for me I am flying into Minneapolis Friday night and driving down early Saturday (almost $300 diff in airfare), so hopefully I will make it in time. Ive even pondered the idea of buying a parking pass off of ebay.
  25. Does anyone know if they will be utilizing the State Fair parking lot again for game 3 of the NLDS?
