  1. 102 pitches through 8. Brennaman seems to think that Sabathia will be back out there. I think it'd be lunacy to make him throw any more in 90+ degree heat. With that said, Ned'll probably throw him out there to start the 9th again. Ugh.
  2. Prince again...incredible. This is a great time for Prince to heat up, wouldn't you say?
  3. The Braves probably would've been better off just intentionally walking Kendall. Sabathia hits pretty well for a pitcher, but he's still a pitcher and is less likely to hurt you than Kendall. Not that I'm going to complain, though. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Hopefully this isn't like the Cubs start where Sabathia got the lead and gave it right back again.
  4. Holy crap Kendall hit it out of the infield! Brewers lead!
  5. PRINCE! 4 straight games with a HR...wow. Now we can breathe a little easier. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Edit: Mass, as far as the blue jerseys go, I believe last year Brian and Bill did some digging and found out from the players that the blue jerseys are made from a different material than the whites and grays, and they're actually cooler to wear on hot days than the traditional jerseys. Something about the fabric that makes the uniform feel less heavy, I guess, but I do agree that it seems weird to prefer to play in the darker colors on hot days.
  6. Generally, when you don't have a rooting interest in the game, you tend to give credit to the players playing well instead of blasting the team that isn't. It's not like they haven't been talking about the Brewers' lack of patience, though...they've made a bigger deal about it than Brian and Bill ever have. I'm trying not to get too worried about this game, though, as long as they're only down by 1. If Sabathia gives up a couple more sometime soon, I'll start to get a bit more nervous.
  7. At least Weeks made him work a bit in that AB. Any guesses how this inning ends? Hardy popout to short and Braun K?
  8. The Brewers are so impatient they didn't even let Eric Karros finish talking about how impatient they are. Kinda funny, really.
  9. Well, at least Cameron hit that one pretty well...Johnson was positioned perfectly, though. Kendall hits with less power than Ben Sheets.
  10. I wasn't saying that -- I was trying to say that Weeks wasn't the only one to blame on that play, since it was pretty crappy all around. I don't know how it could be considered "Weeks' run" if that double play wouldn't have ended the inning anyway and there was still going to be a runner on third. The guy that was safe at first never came around to score. I guess you could argue it extended the inning by an out, but like end said, if Hardy makes a play he should make, that run doesn't score anyway. I guess I'm just kind of tired of everything being blamed on Weeks when the defense as a whole has been pretty horrible for the better part of a week. Edit: Nice easy inning for Sabathia. He really needed one after struggling to find the zone in the first couple innings.
  11. Perhaps Weeks' first throw would've been more on-target if Sabathia's throw to second wasn't so shoddy -- why don't you get on CC for that?
  12. That throw to end the inning looked pretty accurate to me.
  13. Kendall bunting a hitter over for Sabathia. Hilarious.
  14. Good thing Jeff Francoeur kinda sucks. There's no real mystery why he's struggled this year, Tom...dude swings at everything.
  15. Sabathia's not looking too sharp to start out, and Weeks throws another one wide. With no Brewer fans there to boo him, how will he EVER know he screwed up there??
  16. Bill Hall's lineup nicknames for today: Rickie "Fight the Power" Weeks J.J. "Don't hit it to me because you're out" Hardy Ryan "I hit in HD" Braun Prince "I put on cologne for the game" Fielder Corey "I'm no longer underrated" Hart Craig "The old wise one" Counsell Mike "My skin shines at night" Cameron Jason "I catch 162" Kendall CC "Bay Area Earthquake" Sabathia I especially like Ryan "I hit in HD" Braun.
  17. Hopefully Cameron is so outraged about hitting behind Counsell that he hits two home runs and a double today.
  18. Bummer...I guess Brennaman's not that bad, though. At least they didn't let Daron Sutton call it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  19. Lineup: 2B Rickie Weeks SS JJ Hardy LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder RF Corey Hart 3B Craig Counsell CF Mike Cameron C Jason Kendall P CC Sabathia I'm hoping Matty V gets the call from FOX to do this game. Buck/McCarver will likely be doing Angels/Yankees.
  20. 24 is retired by the Dodgers (former manager Walter Alston). Yesterday it was being reported that he'd wear #28, but he showed up for the press conference today in a #99 Dodgers BP jersey. Maybe that's how many millions he intends to get this offseason.
  21. Apparently, it wasn't just a decision by Theo Epstein to trade Manny -- Epstein talked to a number of the team's vets and they all voted that Manny had to go: Link: http://www.projo.com/redsox/content/sp_bb_red_sox_trade01_08-01-08_O7B2I4V_v19.40422d2.html
  22. Hopefully CC can bounce back from a rough start and doesn't have to throw too many pitches. I'd like to see him taken out under or at the 100 pitch mark (or through 7 innings, whichever's first) if the game is already in hand, just to give him a lighter load for once after throwing so many pitches lately.
  23. I don't know about other people, but I stopped following the game closely when they were cruising through those middle innings. It was nice to kind of passively follow a game (in a good way) for once. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  24. He's been living in the U.S. since he was a teenager, if I remember correctly (he went to high school in New York City), so he's definitely comfortable speaking English (unlike someone like Vlad Guerrero, who's still not comfortable speaking publicly in English because he's only really in the U.S. during the season). I saw that press conference, too, and thought he was hilarious, talking about selling the rights to his "soap opera" the past couple years to the local Univision station in LA, and presenting it with no commercials so people could really concentrate on watching it.
  25. Can we just play the rest of our games on the road? This is too much fun...Fielder's HR was crushed a ridiculous distance straight down the line, and Cameron homers again in Atlanta (didn't he have one in the last series in ATL, too?). Just keep piling on...this is therapeutic.
