  1. Some more runs would be nice if Riske's coming into the game for the 8th.
  2. Cards up 4-0, FWIW. Hopefully Manny can get in one more inning before handing it over to the pen.
  3. We learned that the hard way last night. That one's going to sting for awhile. Nice double play, J.J. Seems like he's had a lot more of those double play chances this year now that he doesn't have to worry about covering Braun's left and Rickie's right at the same time.
  4. Manny's done a nice job of getting out of trouble tonight. Still, it looks like the bullpen's going to have to do a lot of work tonight with him throwing a ton of pitches early on. Hopefully the bats can tack on a few more runs to give the bullpen some more room to work.
  5. Looks like Manny has no control again tonight...between this start and his last one against the O's, he just looks really tired out there. Maybe the Brewers should consider skipping his starts whenever they can, just to keep him fresh (and to keep his innings down).
  6. K's aren't that bad in certain situations. That was probably a situation in which a K was the worst possible outcome.
  7. Talk about stringing hits together...Braun singles in Weeks, first and second with nobody out for Prince. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  8. Hernandez has a WHIP of 1.606 and has given up 150 hits in 103 innings. Hopefully the Brewers can string a few together and get on the board early and often.
  9. Jenks gets A-Ram to ground out, and Jim Edmonds quickly kills the Cubs rally with a groundout to second...ChiSox win again.
  10. Derrek Lee leads off the 9th with a double, Ward hits him over to third on a groundout. Tying run on third for the Cubs with 1 out and Aramis Ramirez stepping in...ugh.
  11. But Hall is hitting .300 against Livan! The numbers don't lie! While last night's game was definitely entertaining to watch, please take it easy on my heart tonight Brewers. How about a nice 11-2 win to soothe the nerves and improve the run differential? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  12. Knowing Ned, he was probably thinking "Hardy hit a HR earlier in the game! You can't take the bat out of his hands!" even though the numbers would say it's better to have two guys on with one out and Braun coming up. What's the best thing that would likely happen in Hardy's AB? Another base hit? Chances are that would mean runners on first and second for Braun, anyway. Normally I'm against risking outs on the bases, but normally you're going to be lucky to get one run against Joe Nathan -- I don't think you can afford to sit around and wait for Hardy to hit another home run. By the time Braun came up, there was already two outs, so you couldn't even send Weeks early to try to get him over to third on the base hit. Of course, this is also probably a good example of why J.J. Hardy shouldn't be hitting second, but that's a different subject. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  13. I really wish Prince was better with RISP. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif Go get them tomorrow, I guess. It just really sucks that they couldn't capitalize on the Cubs and Cards losing tonight. McClung picked a really crappy night to start pitching like Seth McClung...another quality start would've won this game.
  14. Now would be a great time to break out of that 0-for-16 slump, Prince. Just a base hit to tie it...don't try to win it with a homer or anything.
  15. Mauer. Crap. Hopefully they can get to Nathan, but it doesn't seem likely. At least the Cards are losing, too.
  16. Guillermo Mota against the top of the Twins order should be interesting. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif Please get through this inning tied.
  17. Well, you can't say this hasn't been an entertaining game. Hopefully the Brewers can find a way to scrape together another run to take the lead back.
  18. I hate fake turf. No way that sneaks into centerfield if it bounces on real grass.
  19. Jeez...Prince can't buy a hit lately. Diving stop by Casilla. Corey makes up for it, though! Two homer game...never surrender. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  20. Hardy went opposite field! And it went over the garbage bag! Holy crap! Brewers lead!
  21. You'd have to admit that it'd be really cool if the Brewers had a couple guys who could do that consistently ahead of Braun and Fielder, though.
  22. Nice and easy 2nd inning for Big Red. Get some more runs and I'll relax a little. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  23. Did Uecker just say "true dat" while talking to Jim? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
