  1. Thank you, I was looking for those words. I highly doubt anyone on this board follows another team as close as they do the Brewers, however I'd be willing to bet if someone did, they would find just as many "poor" decisions made by that team's manager. It's such a crap shoot, because there are so many different things that go into each situation. Assistant coaches, front office staff, talent on the big club's roster, talent in the system, scouts and talent evaluators, instructors at the lower levels, and so on. Personally, I think it is extremely unfair to pin the majority of your criticisms on one person, in this case Ned. (Any manager on any other team for that matter). Look at Joe Torre for example, guy gets run out of NY, people were just sick of him and fed up with the whole situation. All of the sudden, heads out to LA, and they love him. Larry Bowa calls him the best thing that has happened to the Dodgers organization. I just don't understand how a manager can be considered "better" than another manager after only being in the league for one year. It takes so much time to learn the game, it becomes debatable if any manager in the history of the game has ever successfully "understood" all that entails each and ever single game. Reasons like this are what drive me to love baseball so much, just when you think you got it, you realize you have no semblance of a clue.
  2. I don't know how you'd go about determining if the managers on that list are better or not than Ned, but some of those names? What has Joe Girardi done? He's a career 5 games below .500 (noted it's only been a year essentially). Ron Washington? Same thing as Girardi. This is why threads like this get ridiculous...
  3. I'll echo the thought that Phils/Caps game was one of the best I've ever seen. Random thought, anyone else notice how shady the officiating has been the entire playoffs?
  4. I feel like it has been a month since Sheets last threw. Either way, this game is all I have to look forward to tomorrow, wisdom teeth come out at noon http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  5. Now, if the Brewers will just watch some pitches go by, see what happens here. It's only 1-0, but was definitely hoping to jump out to a lead today.
  6. The bats just look lost right now, and as I type, good bye.
  7. I don't have a 08 Prince, I can do a Michael Redd from this year or something?
  8. I honestly don't think Simba would take it, he and Ned are very close. I think with this whole situation those two have become a package deal.
  9. Does anyone know a place where I'll be able to get the game in Stevens Point? OR will my mlb.com tv package work up there?
  10. Good posts guys, I hope my thoughts on the situation didn't come across as condescending, as there was no ill will in any of them. That being said, from the camp who supports Yost, which I do fully, it becomes frustrating to see a new thread every day bashing the littlest things the guy does. Or even worse, to take an awesome post game show (1250) and turn it in to a whine fest about the smallest of details, even in games the Brewers win. I do enjoy reading about why people do/don't like Ned, and hope we can continue talking about this, it just gets frustrating when it's the same grinding criticism is the only thing focused on day in and day out.
  11. I im interested in one of the large T-shirts. What were you looking for in trade?
  12. I'm not saying I know the exact reasons he does things. Mench, got me on that one. Ned has a tendency to ride hot hands and career numbers of a hitter vs. a pitcher or the other way around. Could have had something to do with the example you gave. I'm simply saying every manager makes moves like the ones that are complained about here, and Ned is NO worse than anybody managing baseball right now. Matter of fact, I'd take him over most.
  13. I'm sure he understand platoon splits, and makes his in game decisions based off of the ultimate goal of winning. All managers fail in multiple situations during the course of one season. To think Milwaukee has it any worse than any other team out there is ridiculous.
  14. Name one manager in the history of baseball who doesn't make "blatantly dumb" moves. Too much blame is placed on Ned, not just on this board, but by Brewer fans everywhere. I think every manager in baseball has a "track record" of making said dumb moves.
  15. Hey now, take that voice of reason elsewhere.
  16. I was under the impression that Claudio wouldn't accept a job in the pen, as he and his agent felt he should be a starter in the league somewhere. In a perfect world, yes, this is what would happen, unfortunately it's not that easy.
  17. Don't particularly care about the national media. Hopefully he'll continue to build on his 50% save conversion rate. I hontestly think Gagne was just a victim of some weather/nerves he couldn't handle against the Cubs, and one bad pitch against the Reds. He'll be fine, and he looked great today.
  18. We get it, you would have done things different. Go over to the vent thread and whine.
  19. Sweet, thank you!
  20. So nobody knows Bill Hall's or the bottom of the half music?
  21. You have to consider how long it takes to get someone ready in the pen too. As soon as Encarnacion hit his bomb, there was a mad scramble in the pen.
  22. What is the name of the bottom of the first intro song? I kind of like it, very powerful, yet mellow. Second, what is Bill Hall's intro song this year?
  23. For the record, he really was telling some guy to do sit-ups and eat some salad in the bottom half of the 7th. He kept rubbing his stomach, and then doing a sit up motion, it was one of the funnier things I have seen at MP. I think it's great when players have been around that long, and can still have a good time.
  24. Ding Ding Ding! And since I'm posting, Ned doesn't throw down the iron fist to make the lineup. There are many sources of input into that one.
