  1. " I mean, here we are, on the verge of September 1, and it looks like we'll be extending our streak of season without a winning record."
  2. I'm getting tired of this same old blame the manager gig. For god's sake it's the pitching and defense (among other things the PLAYERS DO) that has lost games. How bout for a change people stop doing the trendy thing to blame Ned, and look at Maddux and Castro, look at the youth of the infield, look at Bill Hall's lack of power production, Rickie Weeks' lack of flat out production, Sheets missing about 9 starts, the fact that Cappy, who's a finese pitcher and couldn't knock the clown into the dunk tank from 10 feet away for the past year and a half and so on. PS Doug Melvin gets some blame in this whole thing too, forget these diamond in the rough projects. Building from within has taken the Brewers this far, now go get a TRUE big name in the offseason and put these guys over the top.
  3. I have thought Hall wasn't worth the contract since the day they annouced he signed his extension. I vote to package him up and ship him out this off season.
  4. Forget managing for a second, how about pitching? Milwaukee's is a joke, end of story. It doesn't matter who is running the show, the Crew is out of arms. To go just on a little tangent here, I used to really enjoy Tim Allen on the postgame show, but he fell victim to the whining and complaining that is AM radio. Tim used to hold the integrity of what he does, but now forget it, he's just like Sparky. What really made me notice it was tonight on the PG show, he was ripping Ned for saying he only expected 5 or so out of Sheets tomorrow. So why not just go give the gameplan to Lou. That's just empty pissing and moaning. No one in their right minds is expecting 8 out of sheets tomorrow, it's his first game back.
  5. OK, so you can't get this downtown? Does anyone know why it's so restricted and when it will be available downtown? I'm sick of TWC.
  6. "Once we started losing it was like we tried to do too much, and you can't play baseball like that." If LaPorta knows this already, can he please come guest speak up here in Milwaukee to relay the message? I am impressed with this guy already, sounds like he really appreciates the game itself and his ability to play it.
  7. Watching the LLWS and seeing the stupid Frosted Flakes commercial where the two guys are playing tennis with baseball bats every single commercial break.
  8. Personally, I don't think Cappy has intimidating "stuff" to where he'll ever fit in somewhere and succeed again. Yes he's a left, but he still gasses out at what seems like 87 now, and his fastball/changeup combo can't hit the plate anymore. He's a finesse pitcher who can't locate, it's a terrible recipe.
  9. JJ nailed his ground ball through the box, nothing weak about it.
  10. Schroeder: You up for some ice fishin' this winter? BA: Of course, you got heat? Schroeder: Yea, in a flask. BA: Ahh yes, internal heat. Wow. I love it.
  11. The YO inning limit isn't Ned's call, that's an organizational move. Every team does it with every pitcher that comes through their system, well every team except the ones Dusty Baker managed.
  12. Ice Road Truckers is one of the greatest shows on television.
  13. I think Cappy's lack of ability to attack hitters is what killed him last night and since last July for that matter. Furthermore, I don't want to extend another dime to Sheets til he pitches a full season. Call it bad luck or not, he's making enough money to rehab right now.
  14. Couldn't agree more, good post.
  15. What is this great "track record" that Cappy has?! For a board that hates such small samples, are we seriously considering Cappy's 6 wins since last all star break a good "track record" He doesn't have it. Period. The man needs to go.
  16. I think that's only if you book through Midwest and get a clearance fare. If you use sites like expedia and take the "cheapest" flight available, there is generally a zero tolerance for cancellations. It's worth a shot to call Midwest, but I doubt anything will happen with the purchase coming through Expedia. Good luck.
  17. I couldn't find the link report here anymore? Not sure if it's just my computer or not as it seems stuff shows up half the time and the other half it's gone. Either way I thought this was a great article about some of the teams who are winning this year with low payrolls and younger players. Mods feel free to move this if I have it in the wrong place. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7109136
  18. I have also gone through the same thing, one thing the vet did recommend which we ended up using for a while was shark cartilage. Apparently it helps joints and I believe you can get at a lot of different pet stores. Before trying something like this however, I would 100% go to a vet first, never try anything without the doctor recommendation.
  19. It could just be whatever home park he is in though that he performs better. Just because he is dominating at Coors, doesn't mean wherever his next home park is he wouldn't be as good, just look at the Brewers on the road vs. at home.
  20. I say go for broke, it can't get any worse can it?
  21. My fault, I assumed it was determined that Soup had underperformed. I would have gladly listed him too http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. Just as shocking is that some still think Capuano belongs.
  23. I didn't know where to tuck this random stat, and I didn't want to start a new thread, but I was watching the Braves/Mets game on my lunch today and they were talking about Tim Hudson. The stat I'm about to list simply blew my mind... When given a 3 run lead, Tim Hudson's record: 92-1. Yes, I know, I thought the same thing but it's true, 92-1
  24. Marge: Homer help me fold this laundry Homer: How am I supposed to fold sheets by myself, where's Bart? Marge: Homer those are your underwear Homer: Well, either way it's a two person job. BART!!!!
  25. Joe Dillon is now logging Graffy's time at second today, I guess what do you have to lose at this point?
