  1. I did stick around. Not sure how you can not enjoy his stuff lately. I originally went to see Jeffress pitch tonight, so to see Zach was a nice bonus. I don't pretend to know what's going on with future minor league promotions, but tonight Jeremy looked like he may need several more starts at A+ while Zach looked ready for AA. I know the organization has already said that Jeffress' stay in A+ was not going to be a short one, but I really hope he can put things together. He was hitting 96 and 97 tonight. I have seen eight to ten of his starts in the minors. He was throwing more off-speed stuff tonight than I have seen in the past. What is fun to watch with Jeffress is the sheer power of his arm. He was throwing 96 mph in the first inning and throwing 97 mph in his last inning. He can always bring it ... just needs more control. Brewer's error did rattle him a bit.
  2. I went to the Manatees game tonight. Gindl was in uniform and was signing autographs prior to first pitch. Not sure why he didn't play, but he was in good spirits. I know this does not clarify much ..... but it's something.
  3. Who the hell is Scott Bartell? Scott Bartell is BrewCityUnit's new name.
  4. Brantley really manufactures Huntsville's first run tonight. Micheal walked to start the game. Stole second base. And then stole third base and scored on a throwing error by Carolina's catcher.
  5. Wow .... Bill Hall. That;s a bad day at the plate.
  6. Yeah ..... Prince is the "leader of the clubhouse?" He is acting far from that tonight. Wouldn't mind seeing Prince leave Milwaukee.
  7. -I'm worried that this is it. For the past twenty plus years, this is the season I have been waiting for. With the possibility of Sheets, CC and Prince playing elsewhere next season ..... this could be it. For all the prospect talk for years and all the young players coming up; that this season may be the Brewers best chance for years to come because of the potential pitching situation after season's end. -I haven't given up on Rickie Weeks. -And why are the Cubs this good during the same season that the Brewers show this much promise?
  8. All of those guys? Yikes. My animosity level is rising too. Look at the talent Cleveland would be getting with that proposed deal. If the Indians can't pull the trigger, than forget it. They want us to include Hardy/Escobar ...... go bang your drum somewhere else Cleveland.
  9. I'm not sure either. But he may eventually be a better first baseman than third baseman. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. I think Laporta and Escobar is too much. I hope both those pieces aren't involved in this potential offer.
  11. It pains me to think that Jeffress would be packaged with a Huntsville bat to aquire CC. Jeffress is hopefully the Brewers' CC of the future. I just think that would be too much for a rental.
  12. Last year, the Brewers finished two games behind the Cubs/ a playoff spot. Two games can make a difference.

  15. I would vote Jeffress a touch ahead of Escober ..... but I don't have a vote. The Power 50 crew always does a good job with this though.
  16. Wooo Hooo. The Inman/Garrison thread is back. Thank you Mass. I really look forward to posts on that thread.
  17. Maybe irrelavant to this thread .... but I enjoyed the "Following Inman and Garrison" thread and wish it hadn't been locked.
  18. In recent memory (or at all), have the Brewers fielded a better minor league team than the one in Huntsville this season?
  19. http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll145/josh23fan/Jeffress.jpg Sorry about the size of this photo. I thought some might enjoy it. I'm still figuring out the posting of pics. Jeremy isn't physically imposing but he does throw hard.
  20. I don't post too much but do check into brewerfan every day. I was in Brevard tonight to see Jeffress' advanced A debut. I was looking forward too seeing his stuff live. I only wish he had a longer outing. He continues to throw heat but struggled with location. He did look a bit anxious/rusty. As to be expected, the stadium's radar was a bit off. I sat behind the scouts in the first inning and Jeffress topped out at 97 mph on their jugs. There has been some question to his velocity in the past, but I assure you he throws gas. As noted earlier, he had three K's in the first. He did throw some off-speed pitches during the outing which caught a couple guys off guard. On a side note, Jeffress' mother did a fantastic job with the national anthem just prior to first pitch. Let's hope he's just a bit rusty. Looking forward to his next outing.
