  1. According to a forum poster on jsonline, Adam McCalvy talked on WSSP 1250 this morning saying Parra's promotion is not official. They are waiting to see if Spurling can return from his family emergency in time for tonights game. Link to jsonline poster Edit: Whoops, Klements Bratwurst beat me to it by 3 minutes
  2. Not only could Braun win the ROY, but he could set a record for highest single season slugging % by a rookie. He could also become only the fourth rookie to win the batting title, and the second for Milwaukee.
  3. I'm in! Thanks for the offer! :-)
  4. Which ball would be worth more? I would Imagine 756 would be worth much more than 755. Anyway, If I caught 756, I would offer it back to Bonds for a kings ransom, and if he doesn't want the ball then I'll sell it, if the HOF wants it then i may let them have it for a million or so.
  5. Yo looked good tonight. Great command and composure, many pitches he just missed the zone. His curveball was on, his fastball well fast, and it looked like he had a good change up when he used it. It was a great start by Yo, and I think that it could have been much much better, Yo definately has no hit stuff.
  6. Another possible website is enth.com where such questions as "Who had the most RBIs in the National League since 2004?" "Who had the lowest WHIP in the NL in a season since 2000 with a minimum 200 IP?" Can be answered They call themselves "The Next Generation Search Engine."
  7. Adding to what 1992casey said, not only can you use this for players stats, but also for teams and leagues (atleast on BaseballReference.com). An example Example
  8. A few more websites that I didn't see on your list: As the site says they have "Stats, Graphs and Analysis" www.fangraphs.com This site has up to the minute breaking baseball news MLB Wire A lot of info on this site Biz of Baseball
  9. I hope I'm posting my question in the right thread. Anyway, here goes. Is there a time limit for a team to pick a player, or do they have as long as they want. Also, how fast does the first round normally go?
  10. I think that the brewers should pick like this: Wieters Price Brackman If none of them are available by the 7th pick, then take the top bat available, and absolutely not a HS pitcher. Interesting note, the brewers have only picked 4 college pitchers in the first round the last 25 years. They turned out to be Dan Plesac, Cal Eldred, Kyle Peterson, and Sheets. So I'm hoping we can get Price or Brackman.
  11. Josh, Thanks for all of the info! One thing I noticed about your website. The intro continues on and on, and you MUST click "skip intro" to enter the website. This should probably be fixed, where the intro will go through once, and then send you to the website.
  12. jwill, I know, I feel bad for him. He is a minor league announcer he should be better than this
  13. I heard that they were AAA equivenlent, apparently thats not correct. I guess I keep my posts to people that could actually get drafted.
  14. This isn't until the class of 2010. Conner Fisk, but a pitcher named whos been pitching on a Triple - A equivelent traveling team called the Wisconsin Rockhounds, can already touch 74MPH on the gun, and has a two and four seam FB, plus another pitch, and pitches with great command.
  15. I think moving the Snappers is a great idea. Baseball in wisconsin needs an overhaul, and this could be the start of it.
  16. This isn't the 2007 draft, but there are two pretty good players in Fond Du Lac. Wes Munson's younger brother Sam, and another infielder Ryan Theis, both of them who have been at Perfect Game. Other than that, I can't think of anyone else right now.
  17. I think id trade Hendrickson just for the roster spot, maybe even give the team taking him money and someone else.
  18. Based off of Top 100 prospects lists the Brewers are around 7th. Which is incredible, concidering Fielder, Weeks, Hardy, Hart have graduated to the Big Leagues.
  19. The Badgers are the only Big Ten team without a Varsity Baseball team. However, they do have a club baseball team that seems pretty good. Link is below uwclubbaseball.rso.wisc.edu/
  20. When was the last time that a MLB club, the AAA and AA affilates all made the playoffs? Looks like the Brewers got a legit shot at it.
  21. Does anyone know how to sort the marcel projections in excel? Also, how reliable are these? Would it be wise to use them for fantasy picks?
  22. Good point colbyjack. Ive got three other reasons why i don't like this idea. 1. In the case of Hansen and Wagner, there many other players that were still avaible that i would rather had drafted(In each case, the next 5 out of 10 picks are either MLB players or top prospects) 2. If you do pick a closer, then your basically flipping a coin, hoping he will pan out, because it seems like drafting a closer works have the time. I think that it wouldn't be worth the Brewers 7th draft pick, because i think they can get a Braun - like player. 3. I don't think the brewers need a closer as much as anyone thinks, the brewers really only have two spots in the pen that need fixing up, in wise and aquino but we have outfielders to trade, and minor leaguers like Stetter and Dillard that might be future pen guys so i don't see a need for a closer anyway.
  23. Im not a fan of it, simply because of the draft the best availble player idea. Even if we draft a player at a position where the MLB club is solid, we will have a good problem(like ATL with McCann and Saltamacchia, or the brewers in the '05 offseason with prince and overbay), we could trade that player. Its not like these draft picks will be in the Majors in 5 months, especally under the current philosphy, at best you could expect your closer up in 2009.
