  1. I have another question. If the playoffs started today, the cubs would be the #1 seed, the Mets the #2 seed, D-Backs the #3 seed and the Brewers the #4 seed. Since the Cubs are in our division, how is it determined between the two other teams who the brewers play and who the cubs play?
  2. Here is a link to a story of how a 9 year old was banned from pitching in his little league games because he pitched too fast LINK Personally, I think this is ridiculous. If it is a "developmental league", then why not teach these kids to not be afraid of the ball, instead of running from it.
  3. New news on the instant replay front: Umpires and MLB have come to an agreement LINK
  4. I don't know how long it has been since you've worked at a grocery store, but I'm pretty sure that doesn't happen anymore. I've been working at Pick 'n Save for a year now. Occasionally I will see a food stamps card used, but i don't think it will always cover absolutely everything in the order. I could be wrong though, I will have to check next time I work.
  5. my packet came today this is for Field Infield Box(moved from 118 to 124) NLDS: $360 (3 games, $60 per ticket) NLCS: $800 (4 games, $100 per ticket) WS: $1530 (3 games, $255 per ticket) Parking: $250 (10 games, Prefered, $25 per pass) S&D: $25 Total: $2965
  6. I realize that, but I think it was a bad idea in general to call a 2 seam FB in that situtation. If I where sheets I would try to blow the heat by Blum, or throw a curve in the dirt. Why throw your third best pitch, where if you miss your going to get killed, when you can try to get him to chase another curve.
  7. I can't believe it.. Why does kendall call for a 2 seam FB with a 1-2 count....come on
  8. Pedro, how much of an increase is that over last year?
  9. Could the people who have there 2008 Postseason Packet please tell the rest of us what the prices are? Thank You.
  10. Which leads into my question. How did you get such great seats?
  11. The final tally F: 41,357 Sa: 43,489 Su: 41,565 M: 45,311 Tu: 45,069 W: 44,871 Th: 45,346 total: 307,008 that is 11 straight sellouts and 27 for the season. total for the year: 2,039,444 that leaves 960,556 fans to get in 26 games to get to 3M an average of 36,945. We are on pace for 3,003,545 fans. An with 3 completely sold out Cubs games left I would think that staying on pace would be easy.
  12. Considering that there would be either 3 or 4 home games for the brewers in the NLCS, I believe many season ticket holders will do the following considering the 2- 3x higher price. Go to 2 of the games Try to sell the remaining 1 or 2 games to friends/family that are known brewers fans Sell any remaining tickets on StubHub to the Scrubs Fans Atleast thats what I would do. So I would think that it would be a little harder for scrubs fans to get tickets, but not much harder. Edit: To HolyBannana on the movie clip -- I guess thats a good way to sum up the cubs series....you can't blame the pitching & defense to much for getting swept this the series if the offense can't score runs.
  13. Wow, I definately think that Boston is the loser in this trade. Just look at it. Boston traded Manny, Hansen and Moss for Jason Bay. Manny was still having a good season, and I think that Hansen and Moss might turn into decent players. However, I do think that Boston made the best of a bad situation. I also think that the Dodgers and Pittsburgh were big winners. The Dodgers got Manny for Andy LaRoche and Morris. Not only is Manny a HUGE improvement over Pierre, the Dodgers didn't have to give up a whole lot for him. Even though I think that LaRoche might be a pretty good player in the future, Manny is proven ML player and might be the player to push LA to the division title. The Pirates got Hansen, Moss, LaRoche and Morris for Bay. It was time for Pittsburgh to give in on this season and build for '09 and this trade helps them next year
  14. a quick update F: 41,357 Sa: 43,489 Su: 41,565 M: 45,311 Tu: 45,069 total: 216791 that leaves 83,211 or 41606/game to get to 300,000. This seems in the bag.
  15. patrick425 might have a point that it wasn't the best time for the thread, but like I said I didn't see the game last night. I was just wondering what everyone thought about his chances, seems like there not to high.
  16. I didn't get to watch the game last night...but I did see the Fukudome triple clip. What besides that makes you say this? Everyone out in the outfield makes a judgement call like that, if he catches it he gets an out and saves a run. edit.. know that I see the posts before mine I understand what sargen is getting at
  17. So far He is among the league leaders in outfield assists and FPCT. I understand his range is smaller than some other outfielders, and that gold gloves don't always go to the players with the best FPCT. I still think that Braun has to be a contender for a Gold Glove. What do you think?
  18. ANOTHER HIT. GAAH. Also Lilly had a 9 pitch inning...way to take pitches brewers
  19. man the brewers can't expect to win this series if they can't get a hit w/RISP.
  20. I wonder if the crew should throw at Soriano for dogging it around the bases?
  21. is it me or is CC having trouble with his contol leaving waay to many pitches up in the zone?
  22. When I was at the game yesterday, a few fans and I had an arguement about should it be and error or not. It seemed like the more knowledgeable the fan was the more he thought it wasn't an error. Being a second basemen myself that looked like a tough play to me.
  23. I was a perfect 7 - 0 until yesterdays game..so now I'm 7 - 1.
  24. http://images.yuku.com/image/bmp/b0b151928683111c6ccc8a62f6e0978918e6093.bmp My real pet peeve is when a car is turning left and turns directly into the right lane. Not only is that illegal, but it doesn't allow the car turning right to turn. Ugh.
  25. I have a question on whether in a certain situation if an RBI would be given or not. Heres the situation: Bases loaded, two outs and a 0-1 count on the batter. The next pitch is way outside, the batter swings and misses but the ball goes past the catcher(for a passed ball) and the runner from third scores. Would the batter be credited with an RBI, why or why not?
