  1. Okay, we're only tied. We really need to clone Sabathia.
  2. Oh jeez, Stetter. This game won't be over till 7:30
  3. The NBA does this, too. When they have national games on ABC, local broadcasts are blacked out. It's the just the way the system works, I guess.
  4. Teams are responsible for scheduling the time of their home games. This is on the Giants. I don't think it would have killed them to schedule the game at 4:05 pm PDT (6:05 CDT).
  5. Sonic frustrates me. I've been to Sonics in Phoenix and South Florida, and they could never get my order right. One time I asked for a hamburger (you know, without cheese), and I got a cheeseburger. I asked for no cheese 2-3 times, and my burger came out each time with cheese. I just gave up. This other time, they kept giving me the wrong drink. I think it's the phone ordering method -- it breeds a lot of potential confusion. But...I'm sure I'll check it out when it arrives in town.
  6. Thanks for your help. I attended a Catholic High School, so I'm prepared for the heavy emphasis on volunteer work, but I appreciate the heads up.
  7. Do any of the Marquette grads have any advice for prospective students at Marquette? I'll be starting there in August.
  8. I don't know why the Giants wanted to schedule a game conflicting with the FOX timeslot. Would it kill them to schedule a game at 4 pm or 7 pm?
  9. I bet Arizona or Cincinnati would get the game. Arizona has never hosted, and Cincinnati hasn't since the 80s. Plus, they may want to continue alternating between leagues and trying to showcase new stadiums. Plus, I don't think they'd want to keep it in SoCal for 2 consecutive years.
  10. Guzman does lead MLB in hits and is hitting .313. He deserves a spot more than Fukudome, Tejada, Wright, and maybe even Hart.
  11. I'd be inclined to give the MVP to Aaron Cook.
  12. Selig was absolutely correct to call the game in 2002. I just feel badly that it had to happen at MP. By the way, the "this time it counts" bogus has to end. The homefield advantage in the World Series for one team should not be dependent on whether Dan Uggla makes three errors, or an umpire makes an incorrect call on a stolen base.
  13. This game may very well kill the "this time it counts" experiment. Baseball's on the verge of a difficult decision if somebody can't hit one out soon.
  14. The crowd is razzing Dan Uggla. Seems like they're reveling in his struggles. Think Bud's making his way down to the dugout area?
  15. How would MLB decide who gets the homefield advantage? Would they give it to the NL because the AL ran out of pitchers? Or to the AL because they won more interleague games? If this happened, it would a dream for ESPN. That story and the Favre story would be great entertainment.
  16. I really want a tie. The American League needs to run out of pitchers. They probably have two, maybe three innings left.
  17. This is a win-win situation. Either we get to see the 14th inning OR a Cub blows the game! Awesome
  18. Any predictions on what will happen if this thing goes 15 or 16? I betcha Bud is starting to get nervous.
  19. IBB Longoria, please Uggla is a butcher at 2nd. Almost blew that one, too.
  20. dlk9s: Very true...Uggla is embarassing himself in this game. But there have been some great plays. Sherrill time. Drive in some runs! Sooner or later, an AL player will hit a walk off HR
  21. You'd have to wonder if Francona would rather keep in Soria and possibly lose the game, rather than insert Kazmir into the game. What a terrible conflict of interest. Probably another argument against the stakes of this game.
  22. This is an All-Star Game to remember. The NL's defense in the extra frames has been outstanding. It did look like Navarro beat the tag, though.
  23. Remaining pitchers: AL: Sherrill, Kazmir NL: Lidge, Marmol, Webb I think we'll be safe for awhile (please, no Marmol)
  24. Absolutely outstanding work by Aaron Cook By the way, how many pitchers are left? This could get dicey.
  25. Way to go, rookie Is the NL allergic to winning this game?
