  1. You could even say Beckett, too, if Villanueva hadn't pitched like garbage.
  2. FYI: for those with Time Warner in Milwaukee, the ESPN 540 postgame is simulcast on Channel 32.
  3. Ahh... it's so refreshing -- good baserunning wins the game!
  4. Gotta love the production from Prince.
  5. I don't know how they can all of a sudden get together and change the call. Even the slow-mo replay didn't provide swaying evidence. I know Bud is against replay, but there is a need for the system for disputed HR calls.
  6. That was a BAD call. Baseball needs replay for disputed HR calls.
  7. "Right now, they're all a bunch of young kids that really want to win, and they give everything they have when they step on the field." Sorry, Nedster, but that's not enough. I don't pay my hard-earned cash for season-tickets to watch a bunch of "kids" who try their best. I don't know how Yost's choice of words (calling his players "kids") and his general message can be acceptable to anybody.
  8. AJAY, You're right. That's a loser mentality that Yost has instilled in this team. I would be okay if they were talking like this after taking 2/3 at Fenway, but not in Pittsburgh. The complacency is unacceptable.
  9. Like I mentioned in the IGT, the Brewers, since they've last swept a road series in July 2004, have won the first two games of a three-game road series 10 times. They've lost the 10th game every time. I don't think it's an indictment against Ned, but it is incredibly frustrating.
  10. Fun fact: Since the Brewers swept their last road series (7/1/04), they have played 10 games in which they had an opportunity to sweep their opponent (on the road). They have lost all ten games. 2008 (3, including tonight); 2007 (5); 2006 (2); 2005 (0); 2004 (0)
  11. A paltry 8805 in attendance. I actually feel bad for the Pirates http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  12. Cubs terrorized Shawn Chacon in the first...3-0 CHC.
  13. AdvantageSchneider: Agreed 100%. Yost should have said nothing. Most probably weren't aware of this rumor-- Yost discussing its merits just keeps the fire burning. Yost created a distraction. The focus of his press conferences should be on why his team has lost 5 in a row (before tonight), not about some unsubstantiated rumor.
  14. The mass of fans in Boston spoke volumes about the size and dedication of the Brewers' fanbase. We showed everybody in Boston how far the Milwaukee Brewers have come in the past few years, and, IMO, we proved that the Brewers may have the smallest market in the game, but they have A LOT of dedicated, passionate fans. It was a terrific weekend in Boston. I can't tell you how many Brewers fans I saw (on the T, in Prudential Center, Fanueil Hall, Brewers fans playing catch in Boston Common, in restaurants, etc).
  15. Was there a polite clap for the team as they got swept out of Fenway? I nevere heard one Brewer fan unfortunately...saw a few sad-looking ones Trust me, there were some considerable roars when the Brewers made a big play. Especially on Saturday night. They still embarassed themselves, though.
  16. Wow, I enjoyed the dueling "Let's go Brewers/Red Sox chants" in the RF grandstand. Despite the crappy day, Brewers fans were loud and proud.
  17. There are literally a TON of Brewer fans milling around Boston. Should be interesting...
  18. Sheraton Boston Saw Ned Yost with a big cup of coffee from the Starbucks in the hotel. Also saw Hart and his wife this morning. EDIT: I'm looking at Uke right now. Don't want to disturb him, though; he seems like a private man.
  19. Arrived in Boston tonight...the entire flight from Milwaukee to Boston was Brewers fans. Now, I just realized I'm staying at the same hotel as the players. Expect a Brewer fan presence in this series.
  20. Just wouldn't be Gagne without a walk.
  21. Cubs lose. More incentive to not put Gagne in the game.
