  1. ESPN's Gamecast puts the Nats win percentage at 99%. So you're telling me there's still a chance.
  2. On that note, looking more closley at some of the numbers, you could argue that the Nats offense really isn't that much worse than the Brewers. They've score more runs than every team in teh Central other than MIL and STL.
  3. How about a Silver Lining thread? The Cubs completely blew a golden opportunity in the bottom of the 9th after the 'Stros pretty much handed them the game on a plate.
  4. "But wait, DM likes his teams to be like AL teams and what the Brewers have now is an AL lineup." Except that this would arguably be a bottom-quarter lineup in the AL.
  5. A while back I predicted the low point would not occur until the Crew was below .500 and Braun's average dipped under .300. The scary thing is that they'll dip below .500, even if not tonight, while Braun is actually heating up.
  6. Cadillac's post got me wondering if there are more people watchng this game at Miller Park than there are watching the local Nats broadcast
  7. Hey, it's a night game. I'm guessing that the winning run gets on deck at some point.
  8. I don't know if he's a malcontent or has other attitude problems, but Felipe Lopez is becoming one of my favortie guys already. He's simply producing.
  9. Well, day games usually follow night games, and since the Brewers can't win two in a row and they usually win at night . . . Or maybe they just aren't that good right now. They're a bottom half team in an inferior league. Doesn't mean that circumstances won't conspire to put them back in the playoffs again, but all the objective indicators point to them needing assistance from outside the organization to make it happen.
  10. If nothing else, we'll at lest be able to stop complaining about inconsistency. Losing every series is the definition of consistency.
  11. I'm really tired of the Brewers always being on the wrong side of the strike zone. It's about 15th on their list of problems, but they simply get hosed in both directions with the zone.
  12. In day games does it matter if the pitching staff gives up more than 2 runs anyway?
  13. The topic of Prince is ceratinly worth discussion, and the downturn of the last several weeks ceratinly brings the idea of trading him sooner rather than later to the fore. That said, there is no way that the Brewers can trade Prince any time before next year's trade deadline without completely sabotaging the past few years of goodwill they have banked with the team's fans. Not the hardcore that you find here at BF.net, but the casual fans that turn 20,000 attendance into 40,000 attendance. So long as the Brewers don't mess that up, they will be able to strive for sustained competitiveness. If they lose the fans, it will be very easy for team to slip back to struggling with Pittsburgh near teh bottom of the division. If/when Prince goes, it will probably be over the winter so that fans have time to digest the trade and prepare to welcome the new guys. If Prince does go at the deadline next year, it will likely only be because the Brewers are sufficiently out of the race
  14. Prince could have put Josh Hamilton to shame if he had simply brought the Brewers staff with him to the HR Derby.
  15. Making the playoffs covered up the stink of the end of the season pretty well. As of tonight the Crew is in 4th place in the loss column. I don't think we see the low point until the team is under .500 and, despite picking it up a bit against poor arms in Pittsburgh, Braun dipping under .300 with his BA.
  16. Problem is, this team is creating fewer and fewer opportunited for big hits. Maybe Lopez will help change that at the top of the lineup.
  17. At what point is acceptable to just let him burn some innings and save teh pen for two winnable games yet in the series?
  18. I'd like to think they still have it in them, but I remember the team from just a couple of month s ago that seemd to have some attitude and fight, Frankly, I'm not seeing that as much anymore, or at we're not seeing the results.
  19. Sooner or later Prince is going to have to start eating meat again, or he simply won't have the strength to carry everyone else.
  20. If those guys had collided that would have been something out of a bad baseball movie.
  21. I remember doing that once, Schlitz. It was quite a few years ago for one of the longer games in club history. I can't recall exactly who it was (maybe the Jays?), but I remember being disoriented as hell. Too bad for JJ that ony a few hundred people will know he hit that homer.
  22. It's almost impossible to see this rain on anything but a highly zoomed in radar. Typical luck for the Brewers it seems.
  23. I know some don't care for BA and Rock, but the free previews of the EI package make me appreciate them even more
