  1. Well, hope I regret turning this one off. Time for a sanity break.
  2. You can tell Zaun is starting to get upset with the zone.
  3. What happens to the crew when the don't play Pittsburgh? Maybe they just aren't very good. We'll see if the zone changes in the bottom of the inning (if ther hitters are smart enough to try to work the pitcher a bit). If it does, and the frustration continues, I could see an ejection or two coming today.
  4. I still don't trust Parra's mental makeup, but he has to be a better candidate for the rotation than Suppan.
  5. I agree with you to some extent. However, I don't think there is anything wrong with expecting average baseball out of a professionial and being upset that he doesnt produce. Especially not producing for multiple years with a contract equivelant of an above average baseball player. Nothing wrong with being disappointed with performance, but there is a way to do that without being a putz, especially if the disappointing performance is not related to effort or motivation. Think we're on the same page
  6. Poor Jeff Suppan. Gets himself out of trouble and then the team throws it away.
  7. Let's not be Cub fans and treat our guys the way they treat their guys, even if we have reasons.
  8. Remember when Pittsburgh was a deathtrap (usuall involving either blowouts or severe frustration) for the Crew? Now the Pirates are nothing but a get-well pill for this team.
  9. Jason Kendall's legend grows. Seriously, this is getting to the point where contingency plans must be ready to go at a moment's notice.
  10. Anybody else having audio problems with the HD feed? SD is fine, but I have no/extremely patchy audio with my DirecTV service tonight.
  11. The Brewers and Subway should enter a promo agreement by which any time the Brewers give up 5 or fewer runs 5 Dollar Footlongs are buy one, get one the next day. (Sort of an inverse Webb's promotion) You'd have to think Subway's exposure on this would be minimal.
  12. Crew is defining "bad baseball" right now; i.e., sketchy pitching plus making the wrong play at the wrong time, or simply failing to make the right play at the right time. Better find a way to get back into this one or they could be in early season crisis mode by the time they get back home to be greeted by all the Cubs fans taking over Miller Park.
  13. Starting to get the feeling that unless this team gets itself to over .500 by the end of this rad trip they likely won't be seeing .500 at all any time soon. Like maybe end of May if at all. Yes, it's early, but the Brewers are looking like a three-legged stool with two broken legs.
  14. Hell, I want Yost back at this point. Think I'll go slam my hand in the car door for some entertainment.
  15. Looking for something positive in a see of negative data, emotions and sliding expectations surrounding this team, I got to thinking that if Rickie can keep up what he's doing, maybe we can start a grassroots effort to push him toward a spot on the All-Star team. Sure, Utley will probably win the vote, but maybe a little positive vibe from this baord will help him get a selection. His OPS is 1.121 and he's playing good defense too. Then I looked at the numbers. Rickie's OPS is currently only 4th for second basemen in the National League. Tough crowd. I'm sure I'll feel better after Soup tosses a gem tomorrow night. Until then, keep up the good fight, Rickie.
  16. My dad has a season tix package for the Twins. Looking forward to seeing a game with him in the new park this season. It looks great. That said, given how everything is going so far for the Crew this season, and with there seemingly being not a lot of optimism on any front at all with respect to this team, it's just another kick to the head that this thread is even here on the Brewers forum. I enjoy baseball and I like the Twins as much as anybody in the AL, but they're still a rival of sorts and today's game, seemingly just another brick in a wall of failure, has me in a dark mood. Carry on.
  17. Another reason to dislike the Cardinals. This one stunk. One pitching mistake by Bush, Braun getting picked off and then as fluky a homer as you'll see = loss. Hard to stomach.
  18. OK, coaches. Isn't that a ball you have to catch with your palm facing up rather than vertical?
  19. Dribbler, jam-shot, run. Remember that when it inevitably happens to the Crew at a frustrating time later this season.
  20. Is that still the routine up there? When I was in the Cities in the early 90s I did the exact same thing. Good luck with that.
  21. And with the first lead of the spring, I can jump on the bandwagon for another season.
