  1. The Marlins better be prepared for the fumblerooski to Billy Bob.
  2. It's depressing beyond words. The panoramic shot of the largely empty Miller Park during the 'Photo of the Game' segment was just brutal. Only 18 days ago the Brewers were tied for the most wins in the NL and their playoff chances were around 90%. They're now under 1 in 3 by the book, and in honesty I don't think they're even that good. If these games were fights and they were just losing them on tough breaks that would be one thing. They simply aren't competitive. I know people don't want to hear it, and I'm not deflecting all blame from management, but in my experience streaks like this are largely about the mental makeup of the players, either individually, as a group dynamic, or both.
  3. There is a real possibiilty that the Brewer team finishes in the bottom half of MLB in terms of record. In fact, they're tied for spots 13-16 in the loss column right now.
  4. This is old-school Brewer stuff here. Celebrating 1000 hit milestones while others are frying much bigger fish. It's sad that in just over 10 days the magic number watch has turned into an E# watch.
  5. Hey, another opportunity to strand a runner in scoring position!
  6. RR is a believer in the power of reverse analytics.
  7. This is the spot where I point out that the Crew is 1-15 since the AS Break when giving up at least 4 runs. The good news is that the only win was against STL.
  8. He was so obviously out that anyone other than a union-protected ump would be in danger of losing his job.
  9. Not sure how you send Braun there. Not sure how you miss that call. This game is a mess from every angle. Replay umps spending extra time wondering how that call was missed.
  10. Looks like whatever the Brewers have is contagious.
  11. The opposition is going to score runs, but there is way too much of the R column > H column lately. That doesn't make up for the fact that the Brewers can't hit at all altely, but it sure doesn't help.
  12. Thanks for swinging. Not outta the woods yet. If this goes belly up, MPD better be guarding all the bridges.
  13. All you could do was laugh the other night in Chicago, especially when he got the #1 top play on ESPN (for the admittedly great play from his knees), which failed to mention his earlier almost single-handed demolition of the Brewers' chances to win the game.
  14. The last time the Brewers led a game at the end of a complete inning was in San Francisco. They lost that game 15-5.
  15. I just want to see them score 4 runs. Unfortunately, Tim Lincecum isn't walking through that bullpen door.
  16. The Brewers have held the lead at the end of 3 of the last 81 innings played and none of the last 44 innings.
  17. It's easy to bag on umps, but those were two great ball/strike calls in a huge situation.
  18. SO happy they pulled the best player on the season for a meaningless pinch runner who would have at best tied the game.
  19. The fact that that was even reviewed makes me angry.
  20. Can we pretend that that Brewers took the lead and won on that play?
  21. Those last two outs pretty much epitomize the high points of this current streak.
  22. I think GB is going to be really good, but there is a fair chance they start 1-3 with roadies at CHI and DET yet this month. Add that to the Crew missing October and UW playing nobody for 2 months and people might be a bit sour around here. And then winter will start around October 15.
