  1. I'll give Punto some degree of credit on that first out. Gomez never should have been in that position, but even then he's back fairly easily if Punto doesn't play good old-school block the bag baseball there. Lots of guys wouldn't have made that play on his end.
  2. The Brewers are the poster boys for "When your opponent is doing something dumb, don't get in their way".
  3. Not so long ago having the bases loaded with Gomez and Yuni coming up would have elicited screams of terror around thes parts.
  4. Wow, he got around second fast. When the camera cut back to the infield I was shocked to see him around the bag already.
  5. Good job by Fiers. Let's hope they don't overplay their hand here. Oh and scoring some runs would be nice. Even with the roof, I think the awful spring didn't help crowds any. I think they should be OK (though reduced) when school gets out for the traditional summer season, but it will be a challenge to hold attention once August comes unless there is a big turnaround.
  6. Nice. Nice. (Yep, South Park reference in a completely different context).
  7. For a half-second I was trying to put a name with an S, a T, a U and so on down through the lineup. Then I got to the "!" . . . . I'm just going to go back to the fundamentals. I just want to enjoy myself watching a good game tonight. Maybe that's foolish given how these two teams are struggling, but if the summer isn't going to be lost for baseball purposes the turnaround has to start soon.
  8. For one night at least things are pretty nice. Win the series tomorrow, boys.
  9. Thank you Mr Bianchi. You just saved me from losing my Brewers religion.
  10. That was encouraging. It's either going to make the win that much better of the loss that much worse.
  11. This has trouble written all over it. Let the record reflect that the clock read 911 when the cal lto the pen was made.
  12. Not that it hasn't been obvious for a while now, but even as bad as last night was it wasn't as bad as the Astros last night. So if ex citement is relative . . . . http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2013_05_17_houmlb_pitmlb_1&mode=video#/play?content_id=27207249
  13. Yeah, but you can make it a little more fun by placing friendly wagers on the number of pitches it will take.
  14. There is a very good chance that Miller Park will be in as ugly a mood as I've seen in a long while when the Crew finally comes home from this trip.
  15. The most impressive thing about the Brewers outfield is that they are hitting .318, .316, .352, behind a SS who is hitting .351 and they still can't win.
  16. That's great. Nowthey should try to bunt for a hit. It would make about as much sense. OMG.
  17. Freese has been a trainwreck all season. Then tonight happens. I just don't know what to do anymore.
  18. I'll own up to this. I've been a bit lax in my Brewer fandom in recent days, but I'm all-in tonight. Brewers hat, Brewers Lebowski-style hoodie, Brewers t-shirt, Brewers lounge pants and Brewers flip-flops.Enough brats that people will give me wide berth for much of the day tomorrow. Potato salad. More Miller products than may be legally possessed in some Kansas counties. If they can't win tonight they're beyond my powers of healing.
  19. It's frightening how quickly I'm moving toward apathy despite really wanting to care.
  20. So the Pirates are 1-22 with RISP in the last two games and they're 2-0.
  21. If the Brewers don't win a very high percentage of games when they get a pitching performance like Gallardo's tonight, they have no prayer of finishing anywhere close to the right side of .500 this season.
  22. Ax giving up a bomb to follow the Weeks error is liable to break brewerfan.net
  23. Spring has FINALLY returned. The morons have returned to roost in Pittsburg and their calls are filling the air.
  24. Weeks with a single. It's more like Christmas than Mother's Day.
