  1. Gindl finding that POP again! Looks like maybe time for him to exit the slump!
  2. I have gotten to know Zach over the last couple years, and he is a great guy and if these medical issues are behind him, I expect him to continue the path to Milwaukee! After watching him pitch here, he is truly baffling to hitters when he is on. The lack of walks this year is almost as impressive as the total of K's...I can't wait to see him move on, but the guy still won't turn 22 til August, so I guess, why rush! http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/04e35c5b9f767b69e91dcf75ee3a7e2b2808f7a.jpg
  3. Braddock puts up 2 more good innings allowing 1 hit, 0 walks, and strikes out 4! Of course the 1 hit was a HR which raises his ERA to 1.50, but the 4 K's gives him 22 in 12 innings! Considering how infrequently the guys in BC get to throw, I think he's having an outstanding 1st half!
  4. Did anyone actually get to take in the Nashville game? I would like to hear a firsthand report about how Inman looked. I know I made a bunch of noise about the Linebrink trade (of which I still believe was a mistake) but I'd like to know if Inman is maturing into an MLB pitcher or not.
  5. So your tellin me, that the Brewers send multi-millions of investment dollars to wherever, and then they are tended to by whatever Dr with a license was in the area? I admire your staunch defense of the parent club, but I just don't buy that. Doesn't seem like prudent business sense, but since I never saw the Dr's paychecks here, I'll give you that point if it makes you feel better. I guess I'm glad to see that you have total faith in your medical staff in Wisconsin. But answer one other question for me...Braddock only spent 1 week in WV over the last year and 1/2....bad Drs in Florida too?
  6. I know you and I have beat this issue before, but the fact that the Brewers are no longer in WV has absolutely nothing to do with anything. The trainer and the medical staff in WV belonged to the Brewers also. Regardless of that, let's all hope Zach continues on the path he is on. I have talked to him several times since he started throwing, and he sounds fantastic! Zach was very dominating here, and he is one of the neatest people I have had the pleasure of knowing in baseball. He is still only 21, but if he stays healthy and continues to progress, I'm really excited for him. He is a hard worker...the path that he has had to take fighting and "undiagnosed" injury at 19 and 20 years of age after already having had TJ and continuing to come back strong, has to show you guys how much he wants this!
  7. Another nice appearance? Why don't you guys believe in this guy? Dude has 17 k's in 9 innings, many of them swinging, and I believe if you do the math. a 0.56 WHIP! This is exactly the way he pitched in WV before he complained of arm problems....so if the elbow is fixed, get him a few more innings, get him stronger and begin to treat him with the "prospect respect" he deserves....#14....I don't think so.
  8. I wasn't so much advocating promotion, as praising his efforts! I know the guy has spent a lot of time in BC and would love to be pitching above that....maybe a bit over zealous in my excitement!! But think about it, if this guys arm hasn't been healthy for a couple years, and this is his start....I am excited. I also was figuring they might use him more out of the bullpen in his work this season....been a while since he started.
  9. Let's get Braddock out of BC! 13 k's 2 BB in 7 innings tells me he needs another challenge! Looks like he's back to form of a couple years ago, and he has a healthy arm!! Way to go Zach!!
  10. Wooten has just been awesome! It's probably time to see what he can do in Huntsville. I just hope he doesn't become a trade casualty at some point!
  11. Zach Braddock with a nice inning in relief striking out the sides 123 in the eigth inning. Gave up a leadoff double in the 9th that eventually led to the winning run. I think Zach is finally gonna get where we all have expected him to be if he continues to stay healthy!
  12. Great to see Braddock throwin again! 3 k's in 2 innings pitched with no hits and 1 walk....pretty strong for outing #2! With Braddock and Wooten doing what they're doing, BC shouldn't lose many leads!.....for those of you who care, Matt Laporta goes deep for the Indians last nite picking up his first MLB HR! Congrats to him as well!
  13. Any word on where Chapman is? I can't find him on milb or anywhere else for that matter.
  14. and both his HR's the last two days have been to right field, which tells me his is seeing the ball really well right now!
  15. Caleb Gindl a big three-run bomb to go with two singles -- the kid is simply raking Hello our West Virginia friend -- as copied form above, just about every day! Not talking about you Mass.....just nobody else that I usually engage in stimulating baseball talk! Mark my words....AA, in less than 3 weeks! You can quote me there sometime soon I promise!
  16. Is no-one else paying any attention to the numbers Caleb Gindl is putting up? He got off to a slow start last year and worked all season to get the average over .300....but this year .380 at this point with 13 RBI's and a couple bombs...not a bad start, especially in BC. Looks like Huntsville OF could use a bat right now to me! Oh, by the way, for those of you who haven't seen him play...he doesn't really have any defensive issues that many of the other prospects are labeled with...he has a gun for an arm in RF!
  17. Wooten picks up save #3 today! Could be a very good spot for him....seemed really "consistent" when he was here.....reminded me a little of Joe Thatcher.
  18. I know this may not be the right place for this, but you guys in charge can move it wherever you want. Last nite ESPN aired a show called Homecoming with Rick Reilly, that was about Josh Hamilton and his amazing comeback story. What many of you may or may not know, is that Johnny Narron, who was a former Brewer coach here in WV and in Helena, is Josh's "point man" and his overseer during his days with the Reds and now the Rangers. Anyhow, this is a truly inspirational show from a number of aspects, and every young high school age kid should be forced to watch this. The show will re-air on May 1 at 8:00 on ESPN classic, and I would urge anyone and everyone to check it out. I spent lots of time with Johnny when he was here, and he and my then 4 yr old son struck up quite a friendship. He is an incredible man as well. Here is a link to the ESPN page on the show....and my apologies for not knowing what to do with this, but I thought everyone should be aware of it!
  19. Jeffress Salome Escobar Lo Cain Gamel Braddock: I know that's six but Braddock hasn't had the health lately, and if he is healthy I'll exchange Escobar...pitching bigger need!
  20. Gindl has hit .545 during the spring....I'd say he could be our big one to impress this year that nobody has been talking about much! Way to go Caleb!!
  21. Did Gindl get a couple walks today too? He OBP has to be really stong thus far?!
  22. Not bagging on anyone. It's just always fun to see how the X responds to anything I write. My only point was I don't understand how come only a kid with a million $ signing bonus is entitled to good health care! Sorry if I had a problem with Frederickson, but I'm just speaking on what I saw. Dude couldn't keep it out of the backstop on several outings...but I did say I have hope for him and will be rooting for him. As for Brewer and Lucroy, I wish the guys well and it looks like as agent 39 sez, this will be Brent's year. I didn't say I was a pro scout, I was merely saying that I watch these guys first hand and from that is what I form my comments, but I guess I did use the word every so my mistake, I wish to strike that from my comments but in the interests of being responsible for the things I say, I won't edit it from my comments! As for Parra, he was before I began following the Brewers so I guess I just missed that one. Man am I gonna miss the stimulating conversation around here!
  23. Let me just say one more thing when it comes to their "apparent approach" with some of their minor league guys. Reference my post above on three very exciting prospects, I mean Braddock was just incredible when he started here. Look at the Brewers recent draft success in producing and keeping/or trading prospects since 2005. It seems they have lost focus on how important these guys, especially pitchers since that seems to be what they are trading away all these young kids on! Only Yo has climbed through the Brewers ranks....and with the exception of the Million $ man Mark Rogers, they have either traded away all the position players, or the expected pitching stars wind up hurt or a big bust. Evan Fredrickson from last year was incredibly a waste of money from what I saw in Charleston. I am rooting hard for the guy nonetheless. Bryson, traded and labrum surgery, Wil Inman traded, Stever Garrison traded and cut on, Zach Braddock, lots of time back and forth to AZ, finally an MRI, finally surgery, Jeremy Jeffress, anyone know his status lately, Alex Periard, addressed earlier...the list goes on and on. All the kids mentioned, I saw pitch, I saw potential MLB guys. I have watched the Brewers low A guys for 4 years, and have been right on the money with every guy I have seen that I felt like had big league potential in my gut! That means Bobby Bramhall is either getting traded or cut on before the season is up (GOD I HOPE NOT!) I just don't understand why has been closers, rent a pitchers, and broken down bullpen guys like Linestink are thought more highly of than developing more YO's? Somebody help me!!
  24. I just want to know one question....what does an MRI cost? I have seen multiple young pitchers pass through Charleston, who eventually had surgeries (Braddock, Bryson and now Periard), all of whom seemed extremely promising, but the Crew would not authorize MRI's for for a very long period of time. I just don't get it! Two years ago Braddock was the strikeout man of all minor league baseball on a k/9 IP standpoint, and he had arm issues, and didn't actually see any MRI or surgery for 2 years. Someone just explain why the silly MRI's are so dreaded by the big team? Does that make a prospect "damaged goods" on the trading front if they go that route?
  25. Gindl is really killing it thus far! Lots of extra base hits....any possibilities of him starting in Huntsville?
