  1. I thought we were done looking at players like this? #5 Outfielder is as best he could be. I would certainly take TGJ to perform this role.....
  2. Is there any reason that his at bats dropped last year? Probably due to Bengie Molina, but in '05 he must have been considered the starter in Toronto, correct? He looks nice but his year to year stats seem to fluctuate a bit. Zaun: sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/5427/career;_ylt=AmHHvfNavmhoPDKFTrCv86iFCLcF Miller: sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/5878/career;_ylt=AlxiXo6qhSMrnaQ4vck3n.SFCLcF I'd still rather have Zaun than Miller but we already have Miller, but for a two or three season insurance this might be a good pick up after Miller's contract expires. Hurry up Angel Salome!!!!
  3. Well at least that keeps hit out of the NL Central. I pray that happens.....
  4. That is my problem too with trading for Wells. I see him gone in '08. Heck if our season is bad by July, he could be Carlos Lee'd to Texas. Too much to give up for a more than likely, one year rental IMHO.
  5. IMHO, I agree too. For a true hitter like Nomar, this is what our team needs.
  6. We should recap all the rumors involving the Brewers in a separate thread. It wouldn't take long to do!!! Honestly, though, Melvin seems to be very sneaky about these things......
  7. We were all talking about Dontrelle Willis on this board back in May/June when our rotation was in shambles and we were wondering what the Crew would have to give up to get Dontrelle Willis. I recall most of the posters were saying like Inman or more probably Yo would have to be on the top of the list of young names that would also have to include a mix of Eveland/Jackson, and maybe a Hardy or Hall. If the Yankees only had to send those two players (Melky Cabrera and the newly aquired Sanchez) to Florida for Willis, I will be greatly surprised and disappointed that those two players were all that was needed to get it done and the Crew could have bested that. I believe 25 other teams would have a better package to offer than the Yankees.
  8. I second that question!!!
  9. I still can't wait to see what Ryan Braun can do on the Major league level. I agree that Zimmerman could be ranked number #1 as Colby rated him based on his season this year. Could it be that Braun could be better than Zimmerman at least offensively in the near future based on his collegiate stats, etc? He has outperformed Zimmerman I believe every year in college. Or perhaps has Zimmerman past Braun up? Tough to speculate I suppose without Braun having a major league body of work to compare. Either way, again, I cannot wait to see Braun in Brewer uniform soon. To think that perhaps, maybe we have either the number one or two ranked player from that draft is exciting considering the picks of Weeks and Fielder of the few years before......
  10. Mexican Matt Kinney. Ueucker: "Cardinals six runs, 7 hits, 0 errors, two men left on. After a HALF of an inning, Cardinals 6, Brewers coming up" Enough said for me.....
  11. Oh how nice it would be though to finish better than the Cubs again with our homegrown kids spending $60 million versus their $120 million. We have done it for two years, now one more for the hat trick. Now we just have to finish not only above them, but everyone else for once. Oh how nice it will be when I get that playoff ticket order form in September..........cross fingers......again.....
  12. I agree with the sentiment in this thread that Garciaparra would be a nice fit for the Crew. Adding a bonifide .300 hitter is exactly what this team needs. His .872 OPS in 2006 looks nice!!!!! His .907 career OPS is even better. I especially like the points that he gives us flexibility of being able to place first for Prince to give him some days off, as well as a couple of infield spots. I wouldn't be against 3 yrs 25 million for this kind of player. Cross your fingers and hope the injury problems are a thing of the past. What is best yet, is that we don't have the long term committment that a Ramirez or someone equivalent would command and thus perhaps we can resign some of our great young talent.
  13. If Weaver gets that money based on a couple games in the playoffs it would be incredible. It would be like the 3-10 record with a 5.50 ERA that he had with the Angels didn't happen..... If Weaver gets that money, which I doubt, DD is a bargin at the $21 million that was rumored earlier!
  14. Here are some of the M's fans opinions on this discussion on their web forum. It seems they like Jenkins..... www.sportspot.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=10316
  15. I couldn't have said it any better than that......
  16. How much cheaper (if any) would the asking price be for Baldelli over Crawford, if Melvin wanted to go that way instead? Any ideas?
  17. Boy, this writer has the Cubs looking at everyone.... Crawford Carlos Lee Arod Tejada Of course probably just speculation, but considering that they lost 96 games with the HIGHEST payroll I suppose they assume a big splash must have to be made this offseason. It would be nice if the Brewers could come up with some dynamic trade that would make this team instantly better and "shock" the north siders and the rest of the baseball world. Time will tell.....
  18. I also agree that a player like Baldelli could be a nice fit for this team. It could be done cheaper too and would answer our centerfield problem. Rocco's .880 OPS would be a nice addition to this lineup. LOL- Get Delmon Young. Joking. That would make us have the first two picks of the 2003 draft!!!
  19. Melvin did say this weekend that the offense needs more team speed.......hmmm....plus he just happens to be an outfielder..... I would hope that Yo wouldn't be the asking price as he is so close. What do you guys think if Melvin offered Inman?
  20. Maybe it is just me, but I think Attanasio might open up with a higher than 60 Million payroll in '07. Mid 60's- $70million? We will have 2.3 Million fans pass through the turnsyles this year and we rank as of last night's ESPN ranking at 17 for average per game attendance. We are ahead of Baltimore, Colorado, and Toronto to name a few bigger market teams in attendance. We did all of this with maybe a mid 70 win team. I guess my hope is that the organization realizes that the fans have done their part and bumping the payroll from 53-55 million to start '06 to only 60 million doesn't exactly show the fans that they are willing to add a few nice pieces to complement our kids that hoepfully will mature further in '07. Of course, we must do it smartly though as we cannot afford a Jeffrey Hammonds mess on our hands.....
  21. For the first time in awhile, I like the lineup today. It is good that we are finally seeing all the kids on the field together. Too bad, J.J. and Rickie are hurt! This makes it easy to check box scores of all these guys in one place! All of these years of checking MILB.com for Huntsville's stats and Nashville's stats, etc. Now lets go kick butt!!!
  22. I don't know what you guys think but I will be sitting on the couch watching Aussie Millions tonight. Maybe that Hooter's girl special will be on again?
  23. I asked this on another thread, but I want to ask again. Did management make any indication that they will jump to $70 million next year? All I heard so far is that Attanasio stated at a business meeting in Milwaukee that they will entertain a $60 million payroll. Anyone know if this was stated or speculation? With the jump in attendance this year, I would hope they would hit a higher number than $60 million, provided they are smart about how they do it.....
  24. "I would trust Yo Gallardo with my life. " Make that wife!!! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I pray he stays healthy. I can't wait to see him in Milwaukee.
  25. Just joined the game, what is Sheets high on his fastball?
