  1. No it wasn't. You said "if they were playing even .500 ball lately" and I would say 11 games qualifies as "lately", they would have a commanding lead in the division. That's clearly not true because they have been playing .500 ball lately and do not have a commanding lead in the division.
  2. They're 6-5 in their last 11. And 7-12 in their last 19, all of which have been against teams with losing records. Anyone who would have said before this stretch of games that the Brewers would go 10-9 would have been branded a hopeless pessimist. But just 10-9 would give them a 4 game lead over the Cubs and a nice cushion over the rest of the division. Not the point I was making but okay.
  3. Fungus on a treego? I'll spare you the details! I’m not here to cut you down. Because I’m not an arborist.
  4. It does happen in hockey because ushers are very hit and miss.
  5. Erceg hasn't hit since he was in A ball and even then it wasn't that great for a college player. Erceg should have no bearing on any decision they make with Shaw.
  6. The deal is incredibly lopsided for the Brewers. You're taking like four of the top 8 prospects in one of, if not the best farm system in the game and the main piece is at worst the second best prospect in baseball at this point. Using that website that was just posted to show how lopsided that deal is for the Brewers. I think I'll take the risk that one of those four players works out and becomes a star that we have dirt cheap for three years and control of for six.
  7. You want to give up on the entire season for 4 guys who aren't even out of A ball? Losing Hader leaves CC with zero closing options and losing Grandal severly limits an already shakey offense. Honeywell isn't even going to start pitching again until sometime next year! I doubt the Rays clean out the farm for a reliever and a rental anyways. I would because the value we receive far exceeds what we're giving up. Not that I think the Rays would entertain that deal for even a second.
  8. Are you benching Arcia or Hiura both of whom are younger than Dubon making your let the kids play sentence weird. Enough AB’s for them all. At minimum one is going to be on the bench every day. That's #notideal.

  10. I'm sure he'd rather be in MLB getting an MLB pay day but are pinch hit appearances and maybe a start or two a week really best for his development?
  11. Strongly disagree.
  12. Jerry Kramer interview? Am I watching a Brewers game or listening to Bill Michaels?
  13. National writers are starting to get snarky.
  14. Can there be any more lame of a name than captain John Smith? No offense to any johns or smiths in the audience Lamey McLamerson?
  15. This whole Santana thing is weird. No he's not a good defender but he's also never been as bad as he's been this year. So did he just suddenly become the worst defender ever or is it a blip? I don't know the answer but I do know that last year Bryce Harper had a -10 DRS in 477 innings in CF while having a +13 DRS in his first 918 innings in CF and he had a +9 DRS in his first 4,000 innings in RF and then fell off to -16 in 860 innings in 2018. But this year he's come back and has been perfectly average in RF. So I don't really know why Santana has been so bad this year. Nagging injury, some sort of shift where the balls are hit just out of reach that others would be able to get that he can't but I would bet on him getting back to not good but passable defender than I would bet on him being unplayable dumpster fire.
  16. I would guess back in the old timey days it wasn't all that uncommon. Especially when parks were a lot bigger. That makes sense. Wasn't old Yankee Stadium like 454 to dead center? The Polo Grounds was 450 to left center, 449 to right center and 483 to center.
