  1. They said all offseason that they had no money and their actions backed that up. At least the words, I don't think anyone believes they have no money. Maybe if they keep losing they'll sign one but until then, I don't think they'll even entertain it and if they're still losing are they really going to give a big contract out, have them spend a month getting in game shape without helping the big league roster and then hope they bring enough value to make the signing worth it?
  2. He averaged 93 last game. I have no idea where you think his lack of velocity is coming from.
  3. The answer to MrTPlush's question is Matt Garza (7/5/14) and Kyle Lohse (6/1/14 and 9/24/14).
  4. Nelson threw one in 2017 but I'm baffled as to who threw two that same year. Edit: Just realized it's complete game shut out and Nelson's wasn't that.
  5. We've had a few hits this series that wouldn't have been hits if the Reds still had Hamilton. Scott Schebler is a hilarious defender in CF.
  6. You can’t compare that to the Reds. The fanbase is totally different than it was back in the 2000era. Since being relevant again we bottomed out at worst 2.35mil in 2016. That team in 2000 drew like 1.50mil. Today’s fanbase would not have 7k show up. Meh.. 1992 Milwaukee Brewers. Opening Day Attendance 52,470 Next Night Attendance 8,385 1982 Milwaukee Brewers Second Home Series Attendance (Wed and Thu) 5,298 6,199 It happened. In 1982 you would be top 3 in attendance if you averaged 30,000 per game and top 10 if you averaged a little over 22,000. It's just not at all comparable.
  7. Also the dude that tattled on Jordan Hicks last year when he wasn't up to Norris' professional standards. Hard pass on this dickwad.
  8. Indians probably have the best rotation in baseball. Their lineup is really bad at least while Lindor is out but it should be enough to get them to the playoffs. It's amazing the only thing they did to help their outfield is sign Carlos Gonzalez. I've never seen an outfield for a contender as bad as what Cleveland is trotting out there this year.
  9. It's not about the plan working. It's that the plan was dumb to begin with.
  10. Weird how their half-assed attempt to contend isn't leading to better attendance. Reds home opener 2018: 43,878 Reds home opener 2019: 44,049 Reds 1st Sunday 2018: 10,355 Reds 1st Sunday 2019: 18,737 So far, so good. Three home games into the season is probably a little early to say if the Reds efforts to go from "literal worst team in MLB over the last five years" to "maybe somewhat respectable" will lead to increased attendance or not, but I'd imagine if they win some games people will come out & if they don't they won't. Smallest crowd in over a decade tonight.
  11. Dubon isn't a good enough prospect to wait for Super 2. He's also already 24 so we control him through age 30 already. And he also isn't the utter lunacy of playing Moose at SS. I tend to just ignore clancy's insane position player ideas.
  12. If we can see that, surely his coaches are on him about it... Maybe a quicker hook this year will change his ways. Why wait for 1/3 of the season to be over to make a point with this guy? As soon as we can come up with an option at SS, send him back down. Not a huge believer in Dubon, but he can't be any worse than Arcia. How close is he to healthy? Wait for Super 2. Hiura at second, Moose at short. Dubon isn't a good enough prospect to wait for Super 2. He's also already 24 so we control him through age 30 already.
