  1. At least now we know why Cesar Jimenez was available and we know that if we need a 40 man spot at some time he's completely expendable. Although we probably knew that before this blow up.
  2. Arcia having another amazing game. 3-3 with two doubles and a homer and it's only the 4th inning. Edit: 4-4, add another double.
  3. Fox's Bundesliga coverage is awful.
  4. I think it's just that Morton is terrible against left handed hitters. Left handed hitters hit like Ben Zobrist off of Morton while right handed hitters hit like Johnny Giavotella off of him.
  5. Whenever there are lineups like this, there will either be 1 run maximum or 10+ runs. There is no in between.
  6. I can't believe Hurdle left Liz in after the 12th. Yeah you don't want to use Watson and Melancon if you don't have to but you have a chance to get within 3.5 games of the division and avoid a one game playoff and you're using a guy that had to pitch in Korea because he was so bad in MLB and isn't very good now. Yeah, Melancon has pitched two days in a row and Watson threw 37 pitches yesterday but you figure that out tomorrow and play to win tonight in a really important game for your team. I'd be furious if I was a Pirates fan watching a scrub like Liz come in for two innings, give up 3 runs and basically blow a great chance for my team to get closer in the division.
  7. Is FS Wisconsin not working for anyone else? I've just had a black screen since the 11th inning. All the other channels work fine.
  8. I'd imagine the only thing they would be able to do is fine him for the rest of the season if he refuses to pitch. It's also pretty sketchy whether he refused to pitch or declined an offer. Two vastly different things. Yeah, they made it sound like it was up to him, which I don't get at all but in that case they wouldn't be able to fine him or void his contract.

  10. I understand the spin you're trying to put on this, however I'll ask how is spending any money on a below replacement level performance a good deal? Every long term deal the Brewers have signed has turned out the same way, with way too much dead money in the contract. Only to BWAR Garza was worth 7.1WAR the previous 4 seasons over 106starts. Worth 1.4 the 1st year of his contract. That's 8.5WAR prior to this year. They didn't invest money to a Below replacement level starting pitcher. You know that. You should also know like I that many a bust SPs are paid over 5mil on 1year deals. Have the Brewers wasted 3/37.5mil yet? There's 2 seasons to find out. They sure didn't waste the first 12.5mil. If Garza becomes the next waived before end of his contract Wolf or Suppan obvious bad deal. We're halfway maybe less than halfway with option before determining this a bad deal. KRod was awful in 2012. Gave him a chance after that season and he's only been great for Milw. $12 million for 1.4 WAR isn't good value for a small market team.
  11. Dan Jennings is having his player sacrifice bunt with a runner on 2nd and 1 out. That's one of the dumber moves a manager has made.
  12. Umpire misses a pitch right down the middle that should've been strike 3 to Maldonado but calls him out on a pitch that's off the plate by a decent amount. Robot umps can't come soon enough.
  13. Brian just said Parra is hitting nearly .300 for the Orioles. His OBP with the Orioles is .253. Does he do any research at all?
  14. Now that I'm seeing the actual schedule, September looks brutal. 9 home games, 18 away games. 6 against the Pirates, 4 against the Cardinals, 7 against the Cubs, 3 against the Rangers. And we play the Mariners on the road again? Not that I'm complaining, that ballpark is fantastic but we played them on the road the last time we played the AL West and I thought it alternated.
  15. 44 of our last 52 games are at home, including a 23 game home stand and 99 total home games according to the obviously wrong schedule on Brewers.com. http://i.imgur.com/TJrCoXY.jpg http://i.imgur.com/5xzN2O4.jpg
  16. The only bad contracts there are Howard, Upton and maybe Bourn depending on what the vesting option is. Teixiera has a .906 OPS his year. Montero is a 2 WAR player so far in less than 300 at bats.
  17. Not to mention the higher you pick the more money you get which means you can pick a guy who's maybe rated as the say 13th best player, sign him for less than slot and save money to use throughout the remaining rounds of talented players who drop. The Astros did this with Carlos Correa and saved enough money to draft and sign Lance McCullers.
  18. Oh, so after two of the best games of his career his stats will still indicate he's a well below average offensive player? He can be a decent bench piece, mainly because of positional flexibility on a contender. We aren't that and he's not someone we should be giving this much playing time to. Who should we be giving it to? We already give plenty to guys like Segura who don't OPS what Herrera does. How about Perez? He's only 24. Just give Gennett at bats against lefties. He probably won't hit them but what are you really missing out on if he's given a shot?

  20. Scrub? He's produced more than Segura or Gennett. At least he brings some pop to the plate here and there and can play multiple positions. He deserves to play more and should be on this team again next season. Sorry you're so offended that I called a 30 year old with a little over 400 big league at bats who's hitting .236/.288/.385 a scrub. I don't know what you call it, but it's a scrub by my definition.
  21. Hooray for 30 year old scrubs like Elian Herrera leading us to meaningless victories!
  22. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/324809881.html No it wasn't taken completely out of your hands, you clown. If you had pitched even halfway decently, they wouldn't have taken you out of the rotation.
  23. Why is PNC in a category of ballparks that don't get enough love?
  24. Seriously. How many times did Bourgeois spin around on Lind's double? Was he playing baseball or doing a solo waltz? Disclaimer: I have no idea if doing the waltz requires spinning.
