  1. I like how 1992casey and myself basically made identical posts on what the delay was for, even including the disastrous back to back to back errors by the Rangers.
  2. Martin was throwing the ball back to Sanchez, it hit Choo's bat which should've made it a live ball but Dale Scott ruled the play dead. Odor ran across the plate anyways. Umpires then got together and changed the call saying Odor should've scored. Jays fans started throwing crap on the field and then the umpires went to the headsets to make sure they made the correct call on the rule by allowing the run to score. Jays fans have been a complete embarrassment the past hour or so as they throw more crap on the field after Bautista's homer. The Rangers have choked this game away though. The first three batters of the inning reached on errors.
  3. #Brewers scouting directors Ray Montgomery (amateur) and Zack Minasian (pro) can stay if they so desire. Stearns said no other high changes. Really hope Montgomery stays. Give him a better title and a raise if necessary.
  4. He made no real move to avoid Utley because his back was to him because a bad throw made him twist around and he wanted to throw it to 1st because a double play would've gotten his team out of the inning with the lead instead of a tie or trailing.
  5. So what channel is the beginning of the Dodgers/Mets game going to be on? Because the chances of the Cards/Cubs ending in 2.5 hours seems highly unlikely. The scheduling of these games has been horrendous.
  6. Utley has been suspended for two games. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-baseball/25336058/chase-utley-suspended-for-games-3-and-4-of-nlds-for-takeout-slide

  8. Right now the Blue Jays look like the poster child of why you don't give up good prospects for a half year rental. The Royals will join them if they don't come back against Houston.
  9. People aren't talking about Asche because it's a horrible idea and the guy who was interested in him is no longer the GM.
  10. The fact that I have to pay extra for it. The fact that Bob Costas is calling the game. I just don't really like anything about MLB Network game broadcasts.
  11. The only thing I can think of that might work in regards to a one game playoff is two games. The team with the better record gets two possible games at their home park. If the home team wins the first game, the "series" is over and they advance to the DS. If the road team wins, they play the second game with the winner advancing. A lot like a Regional Final in college baseball where one team goes all the way through as part of the winner's bracket and the team that advances through the loser's bracket has to beat the team in the winner's bracket twice to advance to the Super Regional. That would give the team with the better record some option, like the Pirates tossing out Liriano in game 1 and saving Cole for a better matchup in game 2 if it got that far. Of course that would leave the wildcard even more screwed in terms of the rotation because that could leave them without their top two pitchers until games 3 and 4. Just spitballing but that would be one way to have the home wildcard team get an advantage (because it's basically 50-50 right now) in the wildcard.
  12. From the Southern League chat on BA where they rank the top 20 prospects in each league http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/southern-league-top-20-prospects-chat/
  13. They'll easily dump him if they need a spot for someone younger/better.

  15. If Kennedy is as good as you say he is, there's no way he's settling for 2 years, no matter how saturated the market is, especially at age 30. He's not going to want to go back to free agency at age 32. He's going to want a contract through age 34, at minimum
  16. They really should've tested him out before they had him on air for an actual game. He was pretty terrible to listen to. Umm after every other word.
  17. We have about 50 options for starting pitching next year and we're rebuilding. Why exactly would we be spending money on the rotation, especially when we have no plans or expectations to win next year? Whoever said Kennedy's agent is Boras and Heyman is Boras' guy to drum up business for his client(s) is spot on.
