  1. Wonder if we move him back to the infield. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhGHv-e8IJw
  2. 20 year old Canadian (of course) OF Malik Collymore is the return. Like it a lot.
  3. Or worst case scenario, Parra slumps for the rest of the season and we determine that it wouldn't even be worth giving him the QO and therefore get nothing for him. Not thrilled about Davies as a prospect but even with the season Parra is having and if he keeps it up, I'm not sure I would offer him the QO.
  4. It's basically money. The Astros gain $287,500 to spend on international free agents by acquiring that slot while the Brewers lose the same amount for trading it.
  5. Yep....he loved being a Brewer.....hope we get a chance to see him again at Miller Park Assuming the Astros keep him next year and with what they gave up, you have to imagine they will, you'll see him at Miller Park next year since we're scheduled to play the AL West and played in Houston a few years ago.
  6. Phillips going to Biloxi. Other three are going to Colorado Springs.
  7. Yeah, feeling the same. Even though we didn't get that impact pitching prospect, we got a couple of intriguing pitchers as well as a really good and one great outfield prospect. This trade to me signals a direction that needed to happen and I'm happy it has. Take our lumps for a few years and build up the farm system and then go and win the World Series in 2019.
  8. Adam McCalvy ‏@AdamMcCalvy 39s39 seconds ago Doug Melvin says deal came together when Astros included Phillips and Brewers included Fiers.
  9. Fiers is 30. He may be young in terms of service time but he's not young for a baseball player. It made sense to trade him now because we're not going to be competing when he leaves his prime.
  10. International bonus slot. Not competitive balance pick.
  11. From MLB.com Brett Phillips Hitting .320/.372/.548 between A+ and AA this year. Hitting .320/.426/.582 in AAA this year. Has 39 at bats in the big leagues hitting .256/.310/.462 Josh Hader In AA this year he's thrown 65.1 IP, 3.17 ERA, 24 BB, 69 K Adrian Houser Between A+ and AA this year he's thrown 83 IP, 5.10 ERA, 35 BB, 78 K
  12. Those are the Astros 2nd, 7th, 14th and 21st best prospects.
  13. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 5s6 seconds ago To #Brewers: Brett Phillips, Domingo Santana, Josh Hader, Adrian Houser.
  14. Evan Drellich ‏@EvanDrellich Source says four to five prospects coming back to the Brewers in deal for Gomez. Astros beat writer for Houston Chronicle.
  15. Per Heyman, no word on return.
  16. The problem with this is some team is going to claim him and that team will then have a ton of leverage against the Brewers since that will be the only team he could be traded to.
  17. I like how he discusses the prospects in the deal and leaves out by far the best one in Giolito. And no, we couldn't give Desmond the QO. Washington laughs and laughs, then laughs some more and blocks the Brewers' number forever.
  18. "A source". ESPN's credibility sinks lower and lower. [sarcasm]Right, because ESPN is the only network/outlet that uses sources and doesn't reveal them.[/sarcasm]
  19. Bob Nightengale@BNightengale The #Brewers rejected the #Mets trade because of concerns over Wheeler"s physical and still plan to trade Gomez by Friday.
