  1. I haven't seen what Machado did but I'm willing to bet it was intentional. He was being a big cry baby the other night when he thought Josh Donaldson tagged him too hard. Slammed his helmet down, started yelling the whole nine yards. Edit: Just saw his bat throw to 3rd base that was intended for Abad. Ridiculous, he should be suspended at least 5 games.
  2. If only the strike zone was where the ball is caught and not when it crosses the plate.
  3. Lucroy caught that like crap, so it looked like crap but it was a strike.
  4. Gomez, Lucroy and maybe Gallardo. That's it.
  5. My thoughts as well. It's not exactly easy for a 9 to 5 worker from Madison or Oshkosh to get to Miller Park for a game starting at 6:30. I don't think fans leaving early on weekdays if the game goes late is a phenomenon only for the Brewers and starting the games earlier isn't going to solve anything.
  6. Not exactly. They could be shooting much higher than Morales like I said in the trade rumors thread. Like who? It's not like Chris Davis or Joey Votto is going to be available.
  7. Know nothing about him either but I like his size and his weight seems like he could fill out more and add some velocity.
  8. I'm fairly confident we won't be seeing a better name than this the rest of the draft. Brock Dykxhoorn
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong and I might be and he could've switched but I'm pretty sure Fernandez was going to South Florida in Tampa where he also went to high school.
  10. It might but even if it was, nobody's going to give up anything of value to get him. Every other major league team knows his track record. They're not going to be fooled by 60 innings in AAA.
  11. Not only that but they tried to get Springer on this kind of contract and when he declined they called him up. So there may have been rumors, but it doesn't seem like there was any basis for them.
  12. They should cry about it some more. If I was as talented as Singleton, would I have taken it? Probably not, but put that contract in front of me and I might change my mind. Nothing wrong with getting guaranteed financial security for you and your family.
  13. Nothing. He's a 29 year old with a mediocre minor league track record and an awful major league track record.
  14. They wouldn't sign him and put him in the majors right away. It'd be sign him, let him face guys in the minors for a couple weeks and then bring him up.
  15. Wasn't he committed to South Florida?
  16. Hopefully red or blue aren't main colors. I really like green and black together, so I hope they go with a hunter green, lime green and black color scheme. That could look awesome if done right.
  17. The Pirates made a terrific trade today giving up very mediocre reliever Bryan Morris for the 39th pick in the draft.
  18. I don't either. Just pointing out that's the closest he's come.
  19. He finished 7th in 2011 but he wasn't really close to any of the top 4 that year.
  20. Who's going to give up a pick or bonus pool and keep him on the roster? That's the problem with any potential trade. First you have to find a team that likes him enough to give that much up and they have to be willing to keep him in the majors. We're better off just keeping him because chances are your offers aren't happening.
  21. The only game he pitched at Wrigley was a 4-0 loss that he pitched a scoreless inning. If you're talking about the Braves game, the Braves had an 88.1% chance to win when Wang came in and with the bottom of the order facing Kimbrel it probably didn't matter if it was a 1 run game or a 10 run game. Sure you could say maybe they come back if it's a 1 run game but in order to cost the team a game, they have to be winning or at least have the game tied when they come in.
