  1. 10 strike outs... well then his FIP was like 2.27 and he just got unlucky, and stuff... It was actually 4.7.
  2. Of course they would lie about it. They wouldn't get paid as much if they didn't.
  3. This reminds me of every Bucks season. Jim Paschke will start his rah-rah the Bucks are only 4 games out of the playoffs and 10 of the next 12 are against teams below .500, i.e. the easy part of the schedule. Every year it's the same story. The Bucks finish around .500 or worse in that part of the schedule, make up minimal ground and miss the playoffs. Look at this realistically. Is this team as it is right now better than Washington, Miami, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Los Angeles or San Francisco?
  4. With Justin Schultz basically leaving Anaheim out to dry I think retaining the rights throughout would be the only way to do it. You're drafted by that team, you play for that team. If you go to college the team holds your rights and the recommended draft bonus applies to what it was the year and place you were drafted.
  5. That was my first thought as well. I never had them in the house but they used to be all over the patio, especially under rocks and stuff.
  6. He can score by shooting 43%. That's a detriment to the team.
  7. The chick who does the cross eyes thing in that Proven-Power commercial creeps me out.
  8. He's Wolfie's catcher. He has to be in there! http://ontheoutsidecorner.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/roenicke.jpg
  9. His leg is hurt. Would you be blocking the plate with an already injured leg?
  10. Maldonado isn't the savior but did you see Kottaras on that ground ball he hit? He could barely run down the 1st base line, even when Hague bobbled the ball he couldn't even turn it up an extra gear to make sure he made it safely to 1st. He shouldn't be playing unless he absolutely has to and should probably be on the DL with the way he was running. Also, get this clown out of the game.
  11. It's nice that a pitcher who has been awful this year has to have one and only one catcher, even though that catcher can barely make it down to 1st base on a ground ball. And Roenicke is just as stupid for playing Kottaras.
  12. The funny thing is they want to make the playoffs every year, even if they're just the 8th seed so they can get steamrolled but they draft players who aren't ready to contribute right away. It seems if your strategy is to make the playoffs every year no matter what you would want to get a guy on a rookie contract who can contribute.
  13. I strongly disagree with this. There really is no good attribute on the basketball court that Drew Gooden possesses.
  14. At least with Brian we get to hear about every major leaguer from the state of Texas.
  15. http://twitter.com/#!/MarcCarig If you go through his twitter feed you can get more but basically Laz Diaz didn't allow Russell Martin to throw the ball back to his pitcher because it's a "privilege you have to earn."
  16. Aside from pure luck, this was dead-on. Hindsight is 20/20.
  17. 1. Tyler Thornburg 2. Wily Peralta 3. Jed Bradley 4. Taylor Jungmann 5. Jimmy Nelson 6. Logan Schafer 7. Caleb Gindl 8. Jorge Lopez 9. Scooter Gennett 10. Kyle Heckathorn I can't get on board with Morris being a legit prospect right now. Just doesn't get on base enough and that's a bad thing for a first baseman, especially when he's not even slugging .500.
  18. I completely disagree with this and if they do "sell" it will likely be the Carlos Lee trade all over again. Big league players.
