  1. I couldn't tell if it was boo or "Soup." I thought it was pretty funny when they announced Hoffman's name and Julio came out of the dugout.
  2. Rick Schlesinger was on WTMJ this morning. He said that 9% of tickets for this game came from Illinois zip codes and there will probably be more Cubs fans there since there's a lot of them in southern Wisconsin.
  3. Are you honestly comparing $150-180 million over 7-8 years over to $664,000-$800,000 over 8 years? One you can retire after those 7-8 years, the other you're still going to have to work, probably for another 15-20 years. One you have the next few generations of your family set up for the rest of their lives. The other you have enough money to retire with your immediate family comfortably. So yeah, obviously if you're going to have $83,000 vs $100,000 you're going to take the $100,000 because while it's a nice paying job, it doesn't make you insanely wealthy and comfortably set your family up. $150 million vs $180 million on the other hand sets your family up for life and it sets the next few generations at least up for life as well.
  4. Yeah, 7 year $150 million vs 8 years $180 million. If you think he's going to play another year after the 7th year, he'll probably get around $10 million if he's still any good so it would basically be 8/160.
  5. Brian has just been awful announcing tonight. "Kendall pops it up." The ball goes about 150 feet further than the one he said he hit well. "Duffy has homerun power." He has 31 homers in 2,243 at bats in the minors and 6 in 681 at bats in the majors His career SLG% in the minors is .420. In the majors, .361. I looked that up in about three seconds Brian. You should do that sometime.
  6. Yeah, that was disgusting. No way Winn should score from first on that.
  7. "Kendall hits that one well to left." Ball is caught about 175 feet from home plate. Good call Brian.
  8. According to gameday, there's been a few pitches out of the strike zone that have been strikes for Cain and a few pitches in the strike zone for Parra that have been called balls.
  9. According to gameday the wind is blowing out to right field at 13 mph. So it's probably part wind and I'm also guessing it's partly due to the dimensions. That's an odd right field.
  10. Weeks has smoked the ball twice and has no hits.
  11. And of course, after Hart doubles Kendall swings at the first pitch grounding out to SS. At least try to hit it to the right side Mr. Small Ball.
  12. Hart took three pitches in a row. That has to be a record for him.
  13. Awful patience from the Brewers. 17 pitches in two innings for Cain.
  14. Padres escape with a win. Up 4-3 in the 9th, Bell gives up a lead off triple to Orlando Hudson. Manny Ramirez then grounded out, Ethier walked but Bell got Russell Martin to ground into the game ending double play.
  15. Those two aren't going to bring back anything we would want right now. Maybe a Jarrod Washburn type.
  16. Showing a 50% chance of rain at game time, 40% by 5 PM Pacific time, 45% by 6 PM Pacific time and up to 80% by 7 PM Pacific time.
  17. We wouldn't get Danks or Floyd for those two.
  18. I would say mid May at the latest. So maybe 7 or 8 starts.
  19. Right shoulder tightness trying to catch a base stealer in the third inning.
  20. Hart has seen four pitches in two at bats. A first pitch ground out after a five pitch walk and a strikeout on three pitches.
  21. JEFF AND RICKIE!!!!! Suppan is a better hitter than Carlos Zambrano, that much is clear. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
