  1. Abreu will be a free agent.
  2. Atkins is a product of Coors. He's not better than Hardy.
  3. Brewers easily. Jackson was a key piece in the Sabathia deal. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  4. I think Cain is a lock. No way they leave a young potential five tool outfielder unprotected. Somebody would take him.
  5. Pretty much none. Our inexperienced guys last year (Braun, Fielder, Gallardo, Villanueva, Hart, Weeks, Hardy etc.) carried that team down the stretch. It was the veterans that didn't do anything to contribute (Jenkins, Hall, Estrada, Bush, Sheets etc.) This year, our young guys with the "experience of last year" tanked on offense in September almost costing us a playoff spot and then not hitting in the playoffs.
  6. Poor guy. I listened to that game and got depressed and it was only a preseason game.

  8. Here's Lucroy's scouting report from milb.com before the 2007 draft. Focus Area Comments Hitting Ability: Lucroy has an average bat with a line-drive stroke. Power: While more of a line-drive hitter, he does have some raw power and should have average power in the future. He's got very strong hands. Running Speed: He's a below-average runner, but isn't bad for a catcher. Arm Strength: He's got an above-average arm. Fielding: Lucroy is an excellent receiver with good defensive skills across the board. Physical Description: As a strong backstop, Lucroy reminds some of Michael Barrett or Mike Lieberthal. Medical Update: Healthy. Strengths: Good line-drive stroke, excellent defensive skills behind the plate and natural leadership ability. Weaknesses: How much power he actually has will determine just how bright his future is . Summary: Lucroy is a pretty good, if lesser-known, all-around catching prospect. He has a good line-drive stroke and has the chance to hit for average with some pop. Defensively, he is a natural leader who throws extremely well. Those who look for college catching in this draft should surely take a look at Lucroy.
  9. You pretty much are right on in your assessment. As for money, probably 4 years $40 million.
  10. I think they'll re-sign, or at least try to re-sign Teixeira. What I would like to see them do at closer is let Rodriguez walk and use Jose Arredondo there, perhaps signing another reliever (maybe Juan Cruz?) to help bridge the gap and make their 7th-8th-9th Shields/Cruz/Arredondo.
  11. Brian: Joe Blanton has shut down this powerful Milwaukee lineup. LOL
  12. Wait, Slappy is pinch hitting? You might as well let Yo hit and send him out for another inning. Slappy, lol.
  13. Suppan - 3 IP, 5 ER, 6 H, 2 BB, 3 K Gallardo- 3 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 0 BB, 1 K
  14. Joe Blanton 2008 - 5.05 K/9 Joe Blanton career - 5.20 K/9 Joe Blanton today - 6 K's in 4.2 innings

  16. Yes David Aldridge, we remember the Prince Fielder/Manny "Pair-a" fight. So why is a basketball analyst doing baseball again?
  17. I have two pairs of those from Admirals playoff games a couple of years ago. Those things are sweet.
  18. Cubs fans, the sun will rise tomorrow and if it doesn't, the moon is still plenty bright. http://www.clipartof.com/images/emoticons/xsmall2/1213_mooning.gif
  19. To further explain it, they made Howard go back because the interference was called before Howard touched home plate. Same thing with whoever was on second and going to third (can't remember who, so sue me. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif ) But if they would've been at home and third respectively before interference was called they would've been able to stay there.
  20. Because you'd be wasting Escobar's defensive talent if you put him at second.
  21. They do hurt if you're not protected but they hurt even worse if you're not protected and the paintballs are in the freezer. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. It's cool that Sveum was paying attention and knows the rule book and everything, but in all honesty that run scoring and the runner on third were pretty meaningless.
