  1. i stand corrected, I thought you had to make your MLB debut, but I was mistaken
  2. This won't happen. If he is on the 2024 roster, he will be on the opening day roster in hopes that he is ROY and they get that extra basically 1st round pick. A September call up makes him ineligible.
  3. This is going to be a huge issue, travel for non- revenue sports will have to be figured out
  4. I’m surprised he didn’t go to the jets. I believe this ties the record for most years played by a tight end which I’m sure was his goal.
  5. I’m interested in seeing how Carlson does, but besides that not sure what we will learn tonight.
  6. I get this is how the times are, but I hate it. We now have 2 national super conferences for football (B1G and sec) and 2 for basketball (B1G and big 12). looks like uconn is leaving for the big 12 too. I’m glad Marquette saw this years ago and helped form a non-football conference that is thriving. college sports is about rivalries and traditions and money has taken a lot of that away from the sport. Now get off my lawn :)
  7. I would have angry if they traded 12 or 17 fwiw. We all have our prospects we value over others
  8. I hate selling low in someone but let’s see the return which won’t be much
  9. If they had faith in Peter s they wouldn’t have made this move. They needed a 2nd lefty reliever and didn’t have to give up anything of value. But no This isn’t a game changer
  10. Well unless Arnold is a FA after this year, i can't see this happening. Stearns would be POBO, Arnold would then be a GM, a lateral move and would require the permission of the brewers. Yes Johnson could be purged for a better job. Also no reason the brewers can't bump both of them up to prevent this from happening anyway.
  11. I have been impressed with the Arnold / Johnson team anyway.
  12. If they were going to get a pitcher today, a lefty reliever like him makes sense, plus I agree he looks like a brewer. he would be a favorite here if he pitches half way decent.
  13. Canha will make his debut tonight, taking Wiemer's spot in the lineup according to Counsell. Frelik moving to CF
  14. that was kind of my point, the brewers system continues to improve while the mets clearly isn't great.
  15. Jarvis was the 30th prospect in our organization yesterday, now he is #13 for the Mets. I understand he was going to go up the boards once they were redone after the draft / deadline, but still...
  16. I’m fine with this. Should help minimally but the cost was low. Doesn’t move the needle at all.
  17. thanks I need a new show to binge, I will give the diplomat a try. seems to be up my wheelhouse anyway
  18. @Matthew TruebloodI don't think you can ever have enough starting pitcher and if they get one, depending on whom / price I won' t be upset. The issue is that with a few amount of sellers and the large number of buyers, and due to the fact that every team could use a starter, I think the bidding war will be large. Schezer is a 39 year old, with an ERA of 4, and the mets got the 44th best prospect in baseball (granted they did have to throw in a ton of money to make the deal, but I doubt Cohen cares much about that)
  19. which is why they should focus on a bat, not a 2 month SP rental. they are getting 2 starters back this week anyway.
  20. So it ended up being identical to the rosenthal situation minus we didn’t give up anything. No risk signing so this shouldn’t deter the brewers from doing this again
  21. Wilson activated, Sousa removed. This is like a reliever trade (reminds me of Rosenthal last season without having to give up a prospect)
  22. Can we learn from the past before making judgements based on 4 months of play? We only have to go back to Arcia who was forced out of town only to be an all star for the braves. Not everyone develops at the same rate. I agree at some point you need to move on because you can’t have a black hole in the bottom of your lineup every day, but he has shown flashes of promise.
  23. @Jake McKibbinI know it they haven't gone massively underslot. Also I am happy they are finally addressing a large organizational weakness at corner IF, which I am happy about.
