  1. Spent a little time thinking about this trade and looking up more on Toro. Still not a fan of this move. This seems like a move the brewers would have made in the 90’s. Get 2 serviceable MLB players to try to remain competitive. Winkler is an upgrade over Cutch, and I’m excited to see what Turang does on the MLB roster. If he has a good rookie season and Winkler returns to his Reds form, it’s a good move, but those are 2 big IFS.
  2. Thanks for the information I only knew him from his stats

  4. I am also surprised on Robinson. To be honest, Uribe doesn't have numbers that stand out neither. Yes you have to use a 40 man roster spot to protect them, but they can easily be outrighted.
  5. Since they are in the iron district, seems like they are going to do something like Iron, Ironmen, etc. Call me a pessissmist, but I just don't know how well this will work. Its great that MU is getting rid of Valley Fields for their program, but I think its going to be hard to get decent attendance once everyone has seen the stadium. The Rampage, Wave, MU / UWM soccer all struggle / struggled for fans. I know this is higher level soccer and there is a niche of soccer fans around that will love this, but if they play during the summer there is so much to do. It will only take away from festivals, brewers, etc.
  6. I didn’t realize it affected sling too. I dropped direct tv stream on Sunday and went with YouTube tv until brewers season starts back up. You really can’t get a service that you need to sign up for long term because you don’t know what you will have tomorrow. EDIT: looks like their was an agreement to continue service while they work on a contract
  7. Cutch is a FA after this year, he is making 8,5MM Navarez is a FA after this year, he is making 5MM Rosenthal 4.5MM (prorated so much lower) and Rogers 7,3MM (prorated so much lower) is gone, Cain's is off the board except for 1MM, (he was making 18MM) Hader also made 7MM this year, that they won't have to pay arbitration for. so thats 31MM for Cain, Navarez and McCutchen plus whatever they were paying Rosenthal right there. I get that there will be arbitration raises. I like Peterson, but I don't think you can plug him in at 2nd everyday. I think you have to pick up the option. I get that attendance is down, I wouldn't expect that the brewers payroll will go up next season. Maybe they can sign a FA that can equal Wong's production, but 10MM seems reasonable.

  9. I have been thinking for a while on what I want to do after Brewers season since there isn't much reason to be paying 95 dollars a month for direct TV stream. Decided I will go with YouTube TV since I loved their interface and I do get a 10 dollar discount as a recent (new) T-mobile mobile customer.
  10. I agree, you can skip right on my. I do agree it would make sense to put them in their own forum. There is value in that they can be discussed in the forums if necessary. I won’t get too upset either way though.
  11. I agree there are guys I would DFA over Lament. I understand that there was a roster crunch after getting bush. I won’t argue that DFA‘ing Gustave, Perdomo or Strzelecki would make more sense for the 40, but they aren’t on the 26. I guess you could have DFA’d McGee or Suter and nobody would have thought for a second on that. There would be your 5.
  12. i have no idea. Maybe thats what he had to do to make the deal and thats the best offer he got. We weren't in the room. I just don't think Stearns is a dummy who got played so badly and forgot how many open roster spots he had.
  13. I believe is that the explanation is that Stearns took on the player so SD avoided playing the luxury tax. Stearns is no idiot. He isn't going to acquire a player he really wans and 2 days later realize that he has no room for him.
  14. I think some people here need to take a break from this team. Lamet is not a long term fix on this team. Why he was included and then DFA'd. I don't know and I don't care. He is not a player in any long term plans or probably had very little short term plans. Just the bashing of Stearns on everything he does has just been a lot.
  15. MLB and especially the brewers have become very sabermetric focused. I can't argue that OBP and OPS doesn't matter because it does. I said you want to have your better players higher in the lineup. I just always had the theory that if you took your 9 starters and picked names out of a hat, your offensive production wouldn't change much.
  16. I agree, also I also don't think the order of your lineup matters much. Yes you want to get your better hitters an extra atbat. But the entire you need to put your best power hitter 4th and your fastest guy 1st stuff is just antiquated.
  17. I was listening to talk radio yesterday and the host suggested the Brewers trade Hiura for Bell. I don't think they need Josh Bell. Also they would be giving up on Hiura for a 2 month rental. He has had success on the MLB level and can mash at triple A. He may just be a AAAA player, but the jury is still out.
  18. RAW going back to TV-14 effective next week. https://www.givemesport.com/88034500-wwe-truly-major-change-coming-to-raw-from-next-week?fbclid=IwAR2jj7xN0nTihMKTuIOA21B82hjx4Dof-kn_8gp3PpcSKti2sjd0z2sNOTw I have noticed NXT get much more risqué since is got its facelift, will be interesting to see if RAW follows suit as AEW continues to increase their market share.
  19. American Family Field? It has hosted soccer matches already. I can't see taxpayers being too happy to build a 20,000 seat stadium to host a MLS franchise.
  20. I stand corrected, i did read an article this morning to that affect. I hardly see this as a punishment then, minus the shame associated with it.
  21. Never thought I'd see the day. Vinnie Mac is stepping down as CEO amid scandle, and Stephanie is taking over in the interim. I always hoped it would be triple H and he was allowed to run the main roster like he did NXT. This is probably a good thing for the product, but its sad to see someone go that has grown the business as much as he did. Obviously when your daughter takes over for you, he will still be involved I would imagine though. He will be on Smackdown tonight which will be must see TV.
  22. i don't really watch AEW, but i had to find the promo video to watch. The genius thing is nobody really knows if its a work or a shoot.
