Damn...lost my spot in the chat because my internet connection crapped out. Stupid dial-up.

Giants take the lead in Chicago...Cubs walked in a run. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif Nice inning from Villy.

Johnny 1-pitch Estrada... the guys never get a clue about a new pitcher if you swing like a drunk sailor

The Cubs will take the lead in the 8th. Theriot will get a crap hit, Fontenot will advance him, Lee will drive him in, Ramirez will get a base hit, moving Lee to third, Soriano will hit a sac fly to tie it, then DeRosa will hit a homer.

That's the life the Cubs are leading right now.

man, surprising to hear Sutton daring Pena to throw fastballs to Jenkins. The guy has never been good against changeups or curves. So after three changeups, Pena shook his head, sided with Sutton on a heater, and it's a double.

BTW, we can't go with Turnbow in the 8th again, can we? His arm will fall off. I would assume Villy stays in one more inning.

The ump's strikezone seems pretty pitiful tonight on gameday. Is this the case from people watching the game?

rluz, just seems curious, as you normally don't go pointing out slumps. Just wishing we had another option to ride a hot hand?

Often, what fans call slumps and hot streaks is just random strings of hits and out that one would normally expect to occur from time to time. In Jenkins' case, I've studied his streaks vs. randomness and he was indeed more streaky than what was expected. I've come to accept that Jenkins' timing mechanism might be unique enough to cause him some fits for extended periods of time.

Villy got a gift on that second strike that he earlier called a ball with Hardy

Yeah, I definitely didn't mind the walk to Tracy. Based on where the pitches were online (I'm in Atlanta, can't watch on TV), it looked like Villy was being careful with him, which was fine.

One more out....come on, Villy.

man, Drew and Montero back to back...I feel like I'm back in the AFL. And Slaten pitched, too.

I like seeing Balfour up...nice to see someone capable of getting a K in the pen, besides Tbow and Cordero

Villy has icewater in his veins. Seriously.

We complain about the bullpen around here, but the Crew has at least three guys who could close for 2/3 or more of the league.

Does Yost making three trips to the mound indicate anything? I'm sure he's trying to make a point with the staff following Sheets' injury but in all my years of watching his team I can't remember him coming out to the mound without making a change.

My laptop was stalling out on me and firefox was screwing up on my desktop - I was running back and forth trying to get a Gametracker to work to see that last batter.

I can't take another inning like that. Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit amphetamines.

Cubs lose, Cubs lose

And hopefully it's the beginning of a streak of another kind for them... a long losing streak
