If you take out April for Spurling when he gave up 8 hits and a bunch of runs in two innings, he's actually been pretty good. Not sure why all the hate for him. Compared to some of the clowns out there last here, I'm looking at you Winklesas, he's darn good.

The Mariners now have 4 runs on 2 hits. Go figure. Quite the contrast to what we have seen in 3 of the last 4 games.

Cubs are outhitting the Mariners 9-2, but losing 4-3. The Mariners last rally all started when Marquis hit Weaver with a pitch, then walked Ichiro on 4 straight pitches.

True, but Spurling is what he is. He's definitely serviceable, but I'd rather not see him in as many high-leverage situations. He did a nice job of getting out of a jam today, though.
