Uecker just mentioned that the Marlins traded the Phillies for Wes Helms today. He then proceeded to make fun of Helms for several minutes mentioning that his nickname here was the "caveman", that the team used to make him ride outside of the team charter and that when Uecker ran into him in the clubhouse he called him "caver". He also mentioned that the playoff hopes for both the Marlins and Phillies are now completed dashed. Man I love Uecker!

So it looks like batting the pitcher 8th worked the first time through today with Kendall leading off.. anyone keeping a running scoreboard for the year?

I thought about the baserunning a bit, but actually that was the perfect situation to be aggressive. Runner on 3rd could have tagged on that Sheets fly which is about the best outcome you can hope for with him at bat. So there's very little downside to being thrown out as both Kendall and Weeks best offensive skill is walks not singles to score a runner with two outs.

With Sheets coming up, you don't need to take third base. He would have gone for the sacrifice.

Did anybody else think the camerawork on the Hardy double was terrible? First, we miss the ball hitting the wall. Then we miss Hardy being tagged out.
