Post Season Ticket Refund?

Posted

For those of you who did the playoff tickets last year, when should we expect to see our money refunded to our credit cards? Have people already started to see them show up?

Mods, feel free to move this if it shouldn't be here.

If you bought the tickets through your season ticket package I'm guessing your ticket rep will call you if you want to put the money towards next year or take the refund.

If you were one of the lucky lotto winners then I'm guessing it will be soon.

Per my ticket rep:

You will be receiving a letter late this week which will explain this years

renewal process, including the options of rolling over their

Postseason money or obtaining a refund.

There will be two options that are outlined in the letter you'll be receiving. One is to get a refund the other is to keep your money on account. There will be renewal deadlines outlined and as long as you do meet them you will be considered a renewal account.

I have not been charged for the World Series tickets yet.

This was supposed to happen by October 1st, per the invoice.

Has anyone seen this charged to their card yet?

If the Brewers would have made it to the next round you would have seen this charge by now. So you shouldn't see a charge for the World Series tickets.

I don't remember reading that way in the materials they sent out. Maybe I just missed it.

That's cool thou. Thanks.

One other thing...

Are we going to get credited back what we paid for the tickets or for the printed value on the tickets? I'm sure it's what we paid for them.

I don't know about you guys, but I paid $5 more per ticket, than what the printed price on the tickets showed. Anyone know why?

Something to watch for, I guess.

My ticket rep informed me that they did not charge any customers for the World Series, so you shouldn't expect to see a transaction posted. I think this was a jinx, and might be the REAL reason we didn't advance to the LCS.

(BTW jhart, sorry for not finding you in sec. 202 last weekend, totally slipped my mind.)

If I remember right from last year, about $35 or so was added on due to shipping and handling fees.

My ticket refund experience with basketball tickets was that I did not get back any of the fees and order charges so it cost me $20 bucks a game or whatever for a series that didn't happen (through ticketmaster).

got a letter from the brewers today stating pretty much everything said above.

09 ticket info will be out in a couple weeks. you can request a refund if you wish. WS tickets were never charged.

i believe S&H was included in the initial payment, as was parking for all possible games

Somewhat off-topic, but isn't it common for sports teams to take money received in advance like this and invest it short-term? For example, if they got $5 million in advance for playoff tickets, they would invest it - if the games never took place, they return the money to the fans but keep any gains made? I guess my point is, given the recent economic climate, it's possible the Brewers might have have lost money by asking for payment so far in advance. Just a thought.

I thought the fine print on the tickets stated that everyone who received tickets would be charged whether or not the games were played and the funds received by the Brewers would be used to resign CC Sabbathia.

They probably collected interest on it, I'd guess.

I really doubt they would have lost any money on it. If they did do what you are suggesting, knowing they may have to pay the money back within a few months, I would have to assume they put the money into a short-term, low risk investment. Like a CD or a higher interest rate savings-type account.

so do 9 pack holders get refunded automatically or will we also be getting a letter with an option to roll over to 2009?

You mean it didn't go into Mark A's money bin for safe keeping?
