If we lose out on CC, would Furcal look good at short with JJ moving to third??

 

I know it would take a ton of cash, but the guy is a great player. Would shore up the infield, get us our leadoff man, and get us another LH stick.

 

I think he would fit pretty well here.

I think he would fit well if Escobar weren't probably a half-season away from being ready. I don't think Furcal would want anything less than a multi-year deal.

Where does that leave Escobar? I feel like a shortstop is the least of our needs.

I don't see the Brewers getting into a bidding war for a shortstop, with Hardy and Escobar already in the mix.

 

Furcal's coming off an injury, and seeking a 4-year deal, I doubt the Brewers would be willing to pay him what someone else will.

In two years, a Hardy, Furcal, Escobar infield would be crazy.

Hardy is an above average SS, why would we move him to 3B and reduce his value? I mean maybe if we were desperate it would make some sense but Furcal will likely be overpaid to begin with and isn't the smartest target.
