All those peripheral #s mean little when you are rippin' up AAA at a .206 clip. You can keep dreaming about MLB playing time for this guy, but I just don't see anything to show me that he's more than 4A.

In other words you think people should evaluate Gillespie's projectability based exclusively on his stats this season?

Gillespie homers and delivers a sac fly. In terms of 1-for-4 games, it's not a bad performance. The second baseman may have taken away another hit.

 

Walk rate is still at about 1 every 6 ABs, on pace with last year (roughly). Is Gillespie just a little less lucky this year?
