1973 Road Jersey (??) on eBay

I can't find any good pics of the Brewers 1973 road jerseys, but there is an ebay seller who says this is an authentic gamer from Jerry Bell.

I don't ever remember seeing the Brewers with a font that includes those little caps across the top of the W. I always thought they used a straight line font.

 

It may very well be authentic, but I just don't know. . .

 

I've sent a note to the seller, but haven't gotten a response yet.

 

Anyone have an opinion?

Thanks, 20fry. Not sure if cards issued in 1973 used photos from 1973 or 1972. . .But still, in a couple of 1974s, the W was just the 4 straight lines, without any extra detail. I'm guessing this isn't Jerry Bell's jersey--or at least not from during the MLB regular season.

 

Hopefully other Brewerfan.netters will stay away. I will.

My guess is it's a fake. I looked all over the internet to find pictures with that "font" and it is no where to be found to the best of my knowledge.

Bell pitches for the San Antonio Brewers in '75...probably what the jersey is from. If so, I don't blame the seller for not knowing.

I alerted eBay on the item. We'll see if they pull it. I don't know for sure if it is fake, or a minor league jersey. It just doesn't appear to be what his description says it is.

 

It looks to me as though the only connection to Jerry Bell is the jersey number. He doesn't show closeups of the tags.

That's interesting. I contacted ebay a few hours ago and let them know that the jersey did not match the description. Good to see the system works.
