Matt Lindstrom

MLBTR has ongoing coverage of the Marlins dangling their occasional closer Matt Lindstrom. He's eligible for arbitration and has gotten progressively worse since his 2007 rookie year, but it's a good buy-low opportunity on a power arm. He's lost none of his velocity, still averaging 96+ MPH with the heater. Might be a good project for Rick Peterson at a minimal cost. I don't think it would take much more than a couple low-mid level prospects.

I like the idea of getting Lindstrom from the Marlins, he sounds like a good buy low candidate. I really hope that Melvin is looking to get at least one more good bullpen guy, there seems to be a lot available this off-season.

Lindstrom can't throw strikes, so I wouldn't give up much for him..... maybe a mid level minor league bat, but that's about it.
