McGwire admits steroid use

Just curious. How would you react if one of our greats came clean about cheating? Would you cheer them for coming clean like St. Louis fans have done with McGwire.

 

P.S. I just want to point out the irony of the Cardinals playing the etiquette police when it comes to "Untucking" and Braun's "Cockiness" when they embrace a cheater.

I loved Yount's honesty. It's easy to act holier than though if you know you'll never be put in the situation yourself.

Baseball has specifically identified steroids since '91 when Commissioner Vincent distributed a memorandum to all 26 team owners, stressing that baseball’s drug policy expressly prohibited the use of “all illegal drugs and controlled substances, including steroids or prescription drugs for which the individual...does not have a prescription.” They were specifically banned in McGwire's hay day. I think steroid users should eventually get in the Hall, though, when it becomes clear how widely steroids were used in the steroid era.

I was under the impression that Androstenedione wasn't classified as a steroid when McGwire was using it in the '98 season. That's what I was referring to with my attempt at humor.
